I'm sorry to say it but I was laughing when Green went down - I was thinking he might take over from Calamity James. Then I felt pretty bad when it turned out he was actually badly injured - sorry he'll miss out on going to the World Cup, he's not a bad keeper.
There's nowhere near enough Owen Hargreaves bashing in this thread. That boy is absolutely dire, he stinks the joint out to such an extent that I'm surprised anyone passes to him, ever. He gives the ball away more than Heskey for the whole match and then decides he's going to have a shot from about 25yds out. Once again I have to reiterate - why on earth was he chosen for the squad above Phil Neville? He should have had his summer holidays paid for by Sven and preferably sent to a wartorn country with a bullseye on his back.
Also glaringly apparent that Aaron Lennon should have been in the squad, while Jermaine Jenas shouldn't be near the squad.
Walcott didn't really get enough of the ball to say anything about. He had a couple of chances and looked lively, which is more than can be said for Owen, who looked a mile off match sharp (offside for the goal, giving it away in the England half, poor first touches etc.).
I thought Sol Campbell had an absolute stinker for the first half - kept trying to run it out of the England half Rio style, and got caught out a couple of times. On one occasion the Belarus player could have got 1 on 1 if he'd been a bit quicker, and bear in mind Sol could well try the same tricks against Brazil, who won't pass up those opportunities.
All in all an extremely boring first half, followed up by a scrappy and rather unsatisfying second.
