With only 1 genuine RB in the squad Hargreaves might be needed to do a job there so it's a good idea to give him a run out in that position:)
But presuming Terry and Ferdinand are going to be first choice CB's, Carragher will more than likely (well seems most logical) play RB if Neville gets injured especially as he has played there for 3 or 4 seasons.

Of course he will, but if Carragher get's injured?:)

Typical England lol.

Jenas, the goal aside was crap and is crap. Really don't rate him at all.

Downing was crap.

Carrick a huge disappointment.

Lennon was very impressive.

I'm sorry to say it but I was laughing when Green went down - I was thinking he might take over from Calamity James. Then I felt pretty bad when it turned out he was actually badly injured - sorry he'll miss out on going to the World Cup, he's not a bad keeper.

There's nowhere near enough Owen Hargreaves bashing in this thread. That boy is absolutely dire, he stinks the joint out to such an extent that I'm surprised anyone passes to him, ever. He gives the ball away more than Heskey for the whole match and then decides he's going to have a shot from about 25yds out. Once again I have to reiterate - why on earth was he chosen for the squad above Phil Neville? He should have had his summer holidays paid for by Sven and preferably sent to a wartorn country with a bullseye on his back.

Also glaringly apparent that Aaron Lennon should have been in the squad, while Jermaine Jenas shouldn't be near the squad.

Walcott didn't really get enough of the ball to say anything about. He had a couple of chances and looked lively, which is more than can be said for Owen, who looked a mile off match sharp (offside for the goal, giving it away in the England half, poor first touches etc.).

I thought Sol Campbell had an absolute stinker for the first half - kept trying to run it out of the England half Rio style, and got caught out a couple of times. On one occasion the Belarus player could have got 1 on 1 if he'd been a bit quicker, and bear in mind Sol could well try the same tricks against Brazil, who won't pass up those opportunities.

All in all an extremely boring first half, followed up by a scrappy and rather unsatisfying second.

I have to admit i had a little snigger when Green went down, well i would have stayed down after that :D After the replays it did look like he had a very unfortunate slip. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Something go wrong tonight chaps? bring on the World Cup! :D

Just got back from the match, what a shambles of a performance. Downing and Carrick played well for about 5 minutes and then seemed to lost interest, Owen was anonymous, the only good points were Ashley Cole and Lennon who were impressive and Walcott who did pretty well for the 30 minutes he was on.

We might have had more posession but Belarus looked more in control when they had the ball  Most of the players really didnt look bothered, Hargreaves in particular was a disgrace.

What a load of rubbish.
Why dont we play a passing game?
Long ball with two 4ft nothing strikers.
I thought we spent most of the time passing it to Lennon as he was the only one putting some effort in myself. We couldn't play it short because there was no presence in the middle (Carrick did next to nothing, Jenas did even less), and both strikers play right up on the last man, so neither were dropping back to link things up. Add to that both wingers playing right out wide and there was simply no-one in the middle to play through.

Meh, poor game. Lennon was about the only shining light, as Walcott had about four touches of the ball and not much to do with them, other than a tasty shot.

just got back from the match, i thought bit of a poor game but crouch played rather well. had some nice touches and done a few of the belarus players, he must have been practicing! walcott looked lively when he had the ball,he had a well good reception and everyone was chanting his name when he was about to take a corner! one player who i thought had a carp game was joe cole!he didnt do anything really except diving(what you expect from a chelsea player :p ).

the belarus fans were pretty good considering they had about 50 of them.they sat above me and all i heard was the chanting "Belarus Belarus!"(altho it sound awfully like "Enger-land Enger-land" :p
