*** SPOILERS England B v Belarus B ***

Feel really sorry for Green, but then as a Norwich fan I would. He's not a bad keeper but I don't think he's really up to international standard. This means in 4 years time it's quite unlikely he'll be picked for the squad again, and he's now going to miss out on his only chance to travel with the team as part of a world cup campaign - even if he didn't get to play the experience would have been something.

Unfortauntely as a Norwich fan, it seems likely he'll miss out on the start of the championship season (which starts really early, in August iirc).

he is a decent keeper and should be ahead of david james IMO!

He's not good enough for the premiership full stop, let alone england.
Phil Neville Playing in midfield would offer more than Gayness.
Gayness cant pass, has poor vision, lacks pace and stength, losses possesion, and is generally ineffective, he literally is bypassed for large periods of the game.

I wouldnt have him and a number of the other current squad any where near the england set up.

At what point in a match would you consider the inclusion of Gayness in a team that already had Lampard and Gerrard in the midfield?
There isnt any, if one gets injured you put the far superior Carrick in the side and switch to playing a holding midifield.
Even the lack lustre Beckham is a better choice in all circumstances than playing Gayness, because if one of Lampard and Gerrard wasnt available and Carrick was injured you would move Beckham inside and play Lennon on the wing.
He is a completly pointless inclusion he offers nothing that any of the other midfielders dont already do far better than him already.
He is a wasted team slot, especially cosidering the paucity of striking options Sven has limited himself to.

I personally cannot take you seriously when you insist on calling him Gayness. I'm not sure when you've seen him play but you paint a very inaccurate picture of the player. I'm guessing his later Newcastle years where he was very poor are what your judgement of him is based. He wasn't voted young player of the year in 2003 for nothing.

As for when I'd use him for England, I agree that with both Lampard and Gerrard are fully fit then you probably wouldn't use him as more than a late replacement for tired legs or injuries.

PS he can pass well, shoot from range and is faster than Phil Neville. Though he's not at full fitness at the moment, he still offers a lot more going forward than PN. Watch him next season and I hope he proves you wrong.

I dont think so.
He's garbage end of story.

I watched him flounce around on thursday, you wouldnt think he actually held a first team place in a premiership team, he was doing so much wrong and was so inefective you would think he'd been plucked off the street that afternoon and told he was a international footballer for the day.
