West Ham sans Parker are just not going to cut it, really Jacobsen, Kovac aren't anywhere near good enough, but everyone else is playing like they are carrying injuries, which half of them are.
If anyone remembers Ilunga 2 years ago, he was one of the best left backs in the league, similar in style to Cole, he bombed forwards at every opportunity, played with the left winger brilliantly, played the overlap, good delivery. He looks like he can barely move, not sure he got up the field more than once all game, just looks an entirely different player.
How much is fitness, injury, confidence for most of the players on the team is hard to know, no squad depth, spending big money on Dyer, Dean Ashton, Collison and Behrami sustaining very bad injuries that seem to have very badly effected their careers now. Incredible bad luck to be honest when one squad gets that many injuries and basically none have made it back to their old selves and look like they might not be able to.
Why the 4-5-1 I don't know, like Wenger this playing strikers as wingers just isn't working AT ALL. But again thats more down to injuries this and last season than wanting to play strikers as wingers. Behrami, Noble, Parker, Collison 2 years ago were absolutely fantastic, but all have sustained injuries, 2 of them very long term very bad injuries. If they can get those 4 fit, and playing at their best, they can shoot up the league, if they can't they are in serious trouble.
AS for Liverpool and Hodgson, vastly improve performance all around, Poulsen didn't look bad at all, Raul is looking better by the game, Johnson actually looked far more disciplined in defence, was in line with his defence when it mattered, but how much was being up against a lone, not fit, no confidence striker with little delivery is hard to say.
3 points off 4th now, how terrible he is right
