**SPOILERS** Football 26th Feb - 2nd Mar 2011

Point A - You've missed the point. I know full well that they "can't" take action, although they did with Ben Thatcher. The point is, why is there such a stupid rule in place? If it's clear that the wrong decision was made by the officials, the FA should be able to take retrospective action.

B - I'm not condoning abuse of officials, but if the FA took as hard a stance with players that dive or incidents like violent conduct as they do with players/managers that say something in the heat of the moment, the game would be much better for it.

Unfortunately, our FA is more concerned with players over celebrating, writing stupid things on twitter and arguing with refs than it is with cheating and violence.

And as I said, it was a gerneral point, I know full well that Rooney's not the only person to benefit from the FA incompetence.

You know the reasons, why ask the question?

The FA, as you probably allready know, but are asking the question anyway for some reason beknown only to yourself, signed up to the FIFA general guidelines which dicates what actions they can take, specifically, FIFA do not want people re-refereeing the games, the ref word is final, end of story, unless in exceptional cicumstances.

The Thatcher case, as you already know, but are asking anyway, was an exceptional one, which meant they determined they could take action.

Which you already knew, but were asking anyway.;)

For some reason.

Are these the same FIFA guidelines that prevent appeals of red cards? And are we talking about the same FA that do allow red cards to be appealed?

The FA hides behind FIFA's guidelines on 1 issue and totally ignore them on another. It's nothing more than an excuse. The FA can and have gone against what FIFA say they should do but in the case of incidents like Rooney's and several before, they choose not to take action. It's pathetic.

Bah, working is rubbish. I missed all the fun.

Oh and would you all believe I received an email from someone who said that I moderate this forum I should not be allowed to post as a member too

and you wonder why I get ****ed off

Maybe you should offer that if this person chooses to pay the going rate for your time that you'll just moderate and not post in the Football Arena - £200 p/h sound reasonable?
