**SPOILERS** Football 26th Feb - 2nd Mar 2011

WAYNE ROONEY escaped punishment for elbowing a player in the face because the FA are scared of Manchester United.

That was Wigan owner Dave Whelan's furious reaction yesterday after The Sun told him Rooney will NOT be banned - despite TV footage that clearly showed him assaulting midfielder James McCarthy.

Whelan fumed: "It sends out a terrible message."

He aint happy but needs to stop trying to get into the limelight

He's a world class striker who can NEVER play for whole season! I love RvP, i really do but he's eating up valuable wages while he's on the treatment table and he needs to be sold!

Optajoe:

56% - Arsenal's win ratio when Robin van Persie doesn't start in the Premier League this season and 78% when he starts. Kneed.

Aye, but as the old question goes - who?

Anybody English is automatically out of our price range (Arsenal mark up fee, English). I can't think of anybody abroad.

Vela's gone on loan and is scoring but it's useless playing a lightweight player up front in a 451. Chamakh's out of form and is again somewhat lightweight. Arshavin can't play up there. Bendtner's not bad once in a run, but he's not good enough (yet?) to be a permanent first team player.

Llorente would probably be out of the price range. Although probably worth it in the long run.

Gomez if Bayern want to sell him (doubt it now though).

Can't really think of any big men up top who would suit your system and can still play football. I don't really know much about Lukaku but he's a beast and maybe worth investing in?

Big game tonight. :D Ancelotti says drogba and torres will both feature. I hope that torres and anelka will start though as they combined very well against copenhagen...

We looked a bit weak against the counter the other day and man u normally play defensively against good sides - hopefully lampard and essien don't leave gaps and lose the ball like they did last week. See nani as the main threat although rooney has played better recently too.
