***SPOILERS!!*** Football 29 Jan -3rd Feb 2011

It's still dull though, Chelsea had no where near enough ability to craft a goal against a real Everton defence, they look so ordinary on the ball, so they just wait for Everton to commit forward for a corner then give it to somebody to sprint and they get basically their first shot of the half off against half a defence. It wouldn't be as lame if they weren't so poor they can't create a single chance against a proper defence, but they can't

Yep, this is my personal opinion, also why I never got caught up in the Spurs frenzy, I've seen people run fast with a football before, it's not really that exciting. Everton have been excellent today, some of the tight interplay and movement around the box has been ace, much more talent to that than running really fast

Arsenal were the counter attack experts for years.

Yep, they were good on the counter, as said it is a cheap way to get goals but the easiest, as you're attacking against half a team who are sprinting backwards. But I do think Arsenal were good at other forms of attack, Chelsea today have been dreadful, that was my complaint, their reliance on that single chance from a counter to get anything from the game, it was obvious they wouldn't make a goal against an organised Everton side

I remember a decent amount of that game being played in Leeds half tbh

If we lost out on possession in your half, you'd pass to Arshaven and he'd run half the pitch and pass or **** up a shot, exactly what you accused Chelsea of doing. Then the first tie it was Walcott doing the same.

You don't watch a lot of football do you ?

Drogba is a flaming disgrace to men! Needs to sort his life out.

Good result though I guess. We could do with the cash from the replay as well, haha.

Far, far too much. What's wrong with having different preferences to you? I like tight play that highlights good technique and quick thought, my personal belief is that's the hardest thing to do in football, get multiple attackers to be on the same page whilst in smaller spaces surrounded by defenders, yet still crafting chances.

I don't have a clue what jakeke is on about, counter attacking football is simply a by product of ultra attacking football. If you attack fast whenever you get the ball, be that from a long ball to your defenders and requires passing through the whole team, or when you catch the opposition commited forward and counter attack, thats life.

Many/most of Arsenal's greatest football in the past 15 years has been counter attacking football. Henry's Spurs goal he ran most of the pitch on his own and scored a goal, its bad because one person runs the whole way then scores.

As for the game today, Everton were woeful, Chelsea were woeful, Everton picked it up marginally in the second half, but not much. Chelsea only beat Bolton because Bolton put in just about the worst performance I've seen all season from anyone.

Malouda, Essien, Anelka, Ramires, Drogba, Bosingwa, Mikel are just hopelessly out of form and a couple of them aren't good at all.

Why Chelsea played for the draw after going level I don't know, okay after checking the bench they didn't have many options. I really don't understand this usage of Kalou as a sub, Chelsea should switch back to 4-4-2, Anelka is rubbish on the wing(at least at hte moment) and Drogba desparately needs someone to partner him upfront, Essien is a complete waste of space in midfield now and Malouda is rubbish aswell. The fullbacks should play better with a 4-4-2 and more people in the box to cross to and just a more established and simplified system.

None, it was just how quickly you ruled Spurs as counter attackers. What's your fav team for you're preferred technique ?

Somebody else mentioned Spurs, not me. For the record I prefer Modric to Bale, and appreciate his talents more than Bale's. Just looked back, it was you who brought Spurs up?

As for my preferred style, I probably prefer continental football to English football, but English football has it's merits
