Quick question has Fabregas been getting half as much stick for waving the imaginary card that Rafael did in the game against Spurs?
Thought not
I personally couldn't care less about asking the ref to do his job, if the ref does his job properly, players wouldn't need to. Squillaci's red was a "inty" bit harsh but not much, I'm not sure he would have made it to the ball.
I can see Arsenal's issue, soft though the penalty was, there was clear contact and it was a clear goal scoring chance.
I think the issue is Rafael's just a mouthy gob, as shown when he got sent off. Sure most people would have had a rant at the ref, or at least thrown a few words his way, its the gesturing, and he does the crazy eyes pretty good, though he's not in Hasselbaink's league there.
Its hard to say its a against foreigners thing, as Fabregas isn't exactly English. Honestly if it wasn't for the red card and Rafael having a go at the ref, the waving the card would be long forgotten. several players do it EVERY SINGLE GAME, I'm not saying several specific players do it, but in every game played, at every level, someone does it.
Its okay to go to the ref and ask if something wasn't a foul, its okay to ask if that wasn't a bad foul and maybe deserved a card, abreviating that to waving an imaginary card is somehow terrible, ridiculous.
