Wilshere saw it, and so did most of the crowd nearby.
No. Clearly stated:
6.A.7 REFEREE CONSULTING WITH OTHERS
(b) A match organiser may appoint an official who uses technological
devices. If the referee is unsure when making a decision in in-goal
involving a try being scored or a touch down, that official may be
consulted.
Explain how I'm wrong please?

The crowd probably just started appealing because RvP was. Surely you understand that yes, while it should have been a red and a penalty, it was a hard one to see.
Whilshire, other than RvP was the only other Arsenal player to react to it.
And lol, One More Solo you need to watch some Rugby,
How was it hard to see? The flight of the ball changes and vidic is practically doing a superman with his hand in the air!

How hard is it for the linesman to see that?[/QUOTE]

During the Lions tour, the ref asked the opinion of the TMO about potential eye gouging involving Schalk Burger.
Give me some concrete evidence of the above. It's not allowed. I even remember re: the Schalk Burger incident there was debate about involving the TMO in such decisions.
Are you sure you're not confused between television replays and TMO decisions?
