**SPORE**

But you don't have to replay the early stages and I haven't. It wasn't a stupid comment I made. A lot of the game is about designing your stuff and comes into play once you get vehicles.

The prolem is that the design has no influence whatsoever on the gameplay... which takes all of the fun out of it. Whereas the design stage was originally meant to have some bearing on the game... it now has almost no relevance beyond cosmetics, and the temporary thrill of seeing a little animated thing that you designed using a simple toolset waddle around the screen. I am going to play the space stage mroe though and finish it, I owe it that much. :)

Comlpetely different game, can't really compare them. Civ 4 is hardcore turn-based strategy, Spore is softcore pseudo-RTS.

So is civ4 a better buy over spore?

Depends on how indepth you like your gameplay. Spore is incredibly simple to the point where it bores some people, but then on the other side of the coin Civ4 is so complicated it alienates many.

Do you want a complex and in depth game or a relatively simple and easy to get into game?

Got it today, have played for a bit, up to land, made an ally, killed some creatures, can't say I am overly enamoured at the mo :(

I feel the same way :(

And god dammit someone answer me about multiple wings!! I want my 8 legged 6 winged creature to fly to the moon! I was sure if you built more wings you could fly better?!

Bought this as "the creatures you meet are designed by other people online" yet every single creature I've met so far is designed by Maxis!! When do other people's designs start popping up? I'm on the stage after you come out of the water.

Have you created a spore.com account and logged in with it in game? I see plenty of other peoples creaturs in all stages.

No, because as stated previously, your design has nothing to do with how the creature acts. It's all rudimentary stat based.

Im having fun designing creatures and veichles at the moment, rather funny the sort of things you can do...Although the space stage is doing my head in, but ill keep at it.

No thanks, I took mine back for a full refund today. Guess I'll be putting the money towards either another game, probably WotLK, or dump it into the PS3 fund. :)

I've always wondered how the hell people manage to get a full refund for an opened and used PC game?

Any tips?

I always use the "Sorry, but I disagreed with a particular entry in the EULA" line. After all, you can't actually read the EULA until after you've opened the packaging.

What utter pap this game is in that case! Actually enjoyed the cell stage as adding things made a difference. What's the point in a creature creator if the bits you add don't do anything!!

Feeling bummed now. Should have spent the money on a cheap hooker instead.
