Got this ready to go for tonight after catching up on Resident Alien, looking forward to a palate cleanser after the hot garbage I sat through on Thursday.

I’m two episodes into season 3 have the same overall feeling that I did during season 2. It seems quite padded and the drama / brooding ‘forced’. Good moments, but hard to give it my full attention even with the subtitles.

‘Background watching’.

Just finished all of season 3. Snorefest! Should have been three episodes at the end of Season 2 and then call it a day.
Agree with this. We didn’t need a whole season for those drawn out episodes.

Nevertheless, the show has been fantastic overall, brilliant concept, the sets, the cinematography and the characters.

It was good series overall. However for me, the finale felt
Unsatisfied because of Seong Gi-Hun and could have been better even with a cliche. I did like the cameo and suggestions that it moved to the states.

Mixed opinions.

I hope that the spoiler at the end plays out and we get a season 1 style reboot.

On a whole though seasons 2 and 3 just didnt hook me in like season 1. If they go back to that original recipie then I'll watch it for sure.

Resubbed Netflix for S3 intending to watch one episode an evening…..I ended up bingeing the whole series. Whilst it might not have had the impact of S1 I still felt it was a decent watch and the finale was a good send off.

The Cate Blanchet reveal at the end was initially unexpected, I guess the US remake isn’t so much a remake as a soft relaunch. I am hopeful but suspect the US version will lack a lot of the character building we got in the Korean original.

Nothing was going to be as good as season 1, the shock factor alone has now gone. Storylines seem forced/pushed. ust seems like how can we make a few more quid out of it. Wouldn't surprise me more seasons down line with mandatory spin offs.
They will find a way no doubt

Waited till S3 was released until I watched S2 as I hate waiting months. Blitzed through all 13 EPS last few days, only one word - amazing.

Absolutely loved it, had me hooked, sure there were some side stories that were more fillers than really relevant, but can't take anything away from the main focus of the games and the players.

Ending was really sad but predictable, knew the baby would be the only one alive by the end.

Sucks there is no S4 but I can see why. Either way it's a 10/10 show overall.

My main issue with these two seasons is that there's so little nuance. The people are either straight up awful people or the salt of the earth. The VIPs in particular are what Reddit thinks billionaires are and it takes me out entirely. Not to mention their abysmal dubbed voices and dialogue. It's just far too on the nose.

Outside of the recruiter in episode 1 of S2 and the moment at the end in episode 2 in season 3 (and the aftermath at the start of episode 3) I really couldn't care less about these people.

I've got 3 episodes left but I'm thinking they should have ended it at S1. Have him use his winnings to reconnect with his daughter but have to live with the hopelessness of not being able to do anything about the games. A bittersweet ending that reflects the encrapification of modern life.

Finished it but just watching it in the background really, honestly could not care in the slightest by the end.

You could look away for 5 minutes at a time and not miss anything.

Just finished it

What should have been a one and done is going to end up something we're still getting in 2035 unfortunately. These two half seasons were drawn out for very little reason and I agree with nitefly that you can look away for 5 minutes and not miss anything because of it, the voting every round knowing exactly what was going to happen being the worst offender. The second games were just a retread of the first season with mostly worse characters and writing. Boring, predictable, single minded characters and a mostly unsatisfactory ending due to the commercialisation of the series. The second season spent the entire time building up to something that was ultimately completely pointless outside of attempting to make the audience think 456 might become evil or something which no one in their right mind would believe. I do think 456's fate was the natural fate for the character so no problem there imo. I also struggle to buy the fact the Amercian's wouldn't just pull a gun on Cate Blanchett :p.

Overall it was okay. Not great, enjoyable enough to pass the time. Sadly it's going to be milked to perpetuity and end up forgotten in time instead of being a real cultural landmark like Parasite.

Meh, S1 was great but S2 and S3 just didn't have the same punch.

Just Finished it - Ratings

S01 - 9/10
S02 - 7/10
S03 - 7/10

Ultimately, a great show overall but the mystery around the world ended in S02 (when the frontman got involved), for me anyway. The themes of justice and revenge felt way to forced this season, and the baby storyline was borderline ridicules...should have went full hard and eliminated it immediately :cry:
