Get both, 64gb ssd for windows and programs, then a 1tb or whatever drive for files and games.
im thinking abut getting a 120gb ssd and a 2tb hdd, ill use ssd for windows and a couple of games because some have told me that there is literrally no loading time for games on ssd, is this true ?
Forgot to add i noticed on a socket 1156 motherboard with sata 2 my m4 ssd was much more resposive than any mechanical hard drive i have used in the past, but traditional hard drives are still good for what they are plus the benefits of much more storage for a decent price. On the socket 1156 i noticed the start ups, shut downs and restarts were fast but not miles faster than a mechanical hdd. On my socket 2011 with two native intel sata 3 ports the experience is about the same except the restart is very quick but i did notice on a few occasions that the shut down was slower, maybe it's my system overall?, just something i noticed. I might give the intel rapid storage drivers a go, i was just using windows 7 x64 standard ahci and drivers.when shutting the pc down, it takes a while, is this true?
going from HDD to SSD is nothing short of epic.
Get as big an SSD as you can afford, so you can get more stuff on it!

Well that is the problem still unfortunately if you really need to install massive amounts of data like your game collection and maybe movies. I'm quite fortunate i don't really need to have all my games on my ssd's, i install what i want at the time and get rid when i have finished, i abuse my crucial ssd's and they still work great. Some motherboards allow what's called caching, you could buy small storage ssd and buy large traditional hdd, maybe do some research on it?. I can't tell real world difference with movies or games on ssd or traditional hard drives if i'm honest, well, none that makes me go "wow"i really want to get a 500gb SSD but i cant beleive they cost so much![]()

To quote myself, yeah these IRSD's help with faster shut downs on my system.I might give the intel rapid storage drivers a go.
They certainly do make a big difference, I've been very impressed with mine (samsung 830) Everything seems so much quicker
. I'm blaming Windows Updates ! lol . Damn you Microsoft !
