Stalker 2

Played on release and have a pretty bad memory but from what I do remember there was a great sense of exploration and mystery. No real hand holding and it required you to plan a bit. I really liked it. I bet it looks super dated now so I don't blame you. There's also the fact we had a limited selection of games back then, at least to compare to in a similar vein.

You know when you go to agraprom for the first time and have to go under ground woth the controler at the end, I turned back just before him but the map is still marked so I just went over ground and got in through a brutal fire fight. After that it would never trigger the next thing to go meet doc or whoever it was I made it to the PowerPlant without the decoder thing.

For years I never knew the ending wasn't just the monolith

Confession, I never actually played Stalker properly. I tried years ago when it was already old and couldn't get in to it but I suspect this was just due to how dated it looked. Looking forward to this one though.

Some say you don't play Stalker, Stalker plays you.

I played it for the first time around 2019, and it turned out to be one if my favourite games. The majority are hoping that the new one doesn't stray too far from the originals. If the atmosphere doesn't capture you, then you're not playing Stalker. Give SoC or CoP another go!

E:
No pre order here. Just waiting it out. Unsure if i'll need an upgrade. I'll be playing full on when i do, i haven't gamed properly in years.

The main thing I can remember is just having no ammo all the time

I think I finished it twice and got the "greed" ending, but can't remember my other one!

I got in for the £25 price a while back, but in all honesty it's one of those franchises that I would have paid whatever for and had it at release regardless. Like a few people from here, playing the games actually peaked my interest in to going when the opportunity presented itself, such a great experience, except maybe clambering around reactor 5 in the pitch black, or attempting to climb Duga and feeling the ladder wobbling away from the fittings, that was my limit :D

Games drop in price so quick these days that it seems silly to buy on release.

It's not silly if it's one of your favourite franchises and you want to play it on release, that's the point.
Literally just proven as well by the fact @TNA paid £25 for something that is now £44 on the same site. I don't see it less than £32 anywhere else.

Though one can of course still argue that it's always best to wait for the complete versions after all/any DLC released and bugs fixed. But I don't give a **** how people spend their money.

The price from key sellers will drop when release date arrives, they're just playing the markup game.

Also, all that digital pre order crap will be available for free at some point, or in a near form of it. Mods will deliver even more.

Pre-ordered ultimate edition from steam due to having almost the full amount in my steam wallet from CS skins.

The videos I’ve seen seem to give the impression they’re not trying to stray too far from the original, and happy to pay full price to support the devs :)

If it truly is awful and they’ve “call of duty-fied” it I’ll refund within two hours and either wait for a sale or sail the seven seas

"Happy to support the devs unless I don't like it in which case I'll pirate it":p

I've always been a very impatient person when it comes to things I want, things I am not too fussed about I can wait for but if its something I want...be it a game, a movie, or a cheeseburger, then I want it as soon as possible. I have the money to be able to get things when I want them so I might as well use it :)

Check out this baller eating cheeseburgers whilst pre-ordering games :p
