Stalker 2

I do the same, I only have 1TB storage and just download a game I want to play. Sure it's not as convenient as having a 10TB drive so you can have everything installed at once, but I can pick any game on my steam library, press download and play it within 5 minutes

Not in this case :p
You could end up with a stinker though. Or a games that's not playable due to bugs etc and by the time it is playable it's likely to have become cheaper.
Your also giving devs an excuse to release a game in any state. Already got your cash so let's fix it later

Not saying that will be the case with Stalker but always the risk when preordering

This is the reason I have stopped pre-ordering games.

All the Stalkers were buggy on release, I would be surprised if this one wasn't. It seems to be the common thing now, release a game, fix it later.

That is something completely different. You are saying never buy fornat least 3-6 months. That is actually what I typically do.

But certain games i just want to play day 1. In that case there is no difference buying it via pre-order or day 1 after release.

Indeed. But when people say don't pre order they typically don't mean wait 3-6 months. At least not what I understood.

As i said above certain games I just want day 1. In which case it makes sense to preorder and get it cheaper. If reviews turn out crap I just refund it. As long as you have not claimed the key on cdkeys not a problem.

The wait depends tbh, For the sake of what's normally about a fiver I'd rather wait and see if the game is playable on release and if it does end up being a buggy mess that takes month to fix then I'm happy to wait or just not bother at all

You can still wait until release though no? Just don't claim the key. Reviews and all the info is out before release anyways. So you will know if it is a buggy mess.

Not just that, but you telling me even if I did not want the key to STALKER 2 I could not shift it for £25 (what I paid for it) with ease buggy mess or not?

I seriously can't see the down side to pre-ordering if you find it cheaper.

Soon I will pre-order Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Just waiting for one of those £5 cashbacks from quidco/topcashback :D

Really enjoyed the first game so can't see me not liking it. But if it turns out a turd I can just cancel it or even sell it on.

Also, we are talking about a pretty low risk activity for let's face it not a lot of money.
I purchased two double vodkas at a work event the other week at a cost me 20 quid, although I am told that apparently was expensive.

Can usually get vodka cheaper than that from Sidorovich in Rookie Village.

I can only assume your radiation level was a bit too high, I usually try and avoid Vodka though as being hammered and accidentally stumbling into an anomaly does not sound like fun :(

Agreed. I do enjoy getting a deal though and it all adds up over a long period.

Whack drink, wasted £20, have a tea instead!

And dunk all sorts in it. Lol.

Confession, I never actually played Stalker properly. I tried years ago when it was already old and couldn't get in to it but I suspect this was just due to how dated it looked. Looking forward to this one though.

Played on release and have a pretty bad memory but from what I do remember there was a great sense of exploration and mystery. No real hand holding and it required you to plan a bit. I really liked it. I bet it looks super dated now so I don't blame you. There's also the fact we had a limited selection of games back then, at least to compare to in a similar vein.
