Harbo stawbs aren't coming till tomorrow :(

anyone else get any munchies in for the release?

weirdly no 4090 on the benchmarks, I guess PCgamer can't afford one

unlike most UE5 games that boast GPU-hogging rays, Stalker 2 uses the software mode for Lumen. Your graphics card will still be doing the bulk of the ray tracing but it's done through asynchronous compute shaders and not via any ray tracing hardware inside the GPU.

That's great for making ray tracing more inclusive but, as you'll soon see, it comes at a cost. At the moment, developer GSC Game World is just focusing on optimising the software Lumen pipeline as much as possible, but it may release an option to use hardware Lumen (for AMD Radeon RX 6000/7000-series, Intel Arc, and Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards only) at some point in the future.

Installed and Compiling Shaders which is reminding me very much of the FS2024 progress bar, definitely not going as fast as I'd like and hoping it doesn't get stuck at 97%

I cant seem to turn HDR on. All options greyed out even though it's turned on in windows.
Try it with exclusive fullscreen, that did the trick for me.

Performance so far for me on 7800X3D & 2080ti with max settings @1440p (DLSS Quality and FSR Frame Gen on) is hovering around 100fps, looks decent and feels pretty smooth, if a bit 'heavy'. Might need to tweak some sensitivity settings.

Yup, that did it. Cheers :)

Running lovely for me.. 100 - 115 FPS 5120x1440. 7800x3d and 4070ti super on epic settings and changed fov to 105.. HDR was working fine but had some weird flickering and turned it off.. they defo nailed the atmosphere holy ****... And I forgot my food in oven now it's burnt ffs

As per usual with 99.99% of games these days.

Release a buggy game, patch it later.
Well at least they have some valid excuses.

That said thinks like software ray-tracing makes me slightly confused about what the logic was since the game is so demanding the sorts of people it would help aren't likely to even be able to turn it on in the first place. I guess it sounded better earlier on and they couldn't pivot as it was far down the priorities but I'm assuming once all the serious/intermediate gameplay bugs are dealt with they'll have some folks working on adding hardware raytracing along with maybe updating the engine to 5.5.

The performance so far isn't as bad as thought it be.It keeps fluctuating, but I'm getting around 70-100fps,high settings,1440p XESS Quality on a 7800XT and 7600X
