Stalker 2

That swamp was an annoying mission but not in an unfun way. My advice is don’t go to SIRCCA until you go the the nearest trader and tech to sell gear and stock up. You will be doing a lot of missions there with no trader, or way to repair gear and weapons.

How long did it take you?

I have so many games to play now that I am thinking I will stick to main quests only with a bit of exploration if and when I fancy it.

Seems exploration is not as rewarding as it is in Fallout games. I guess they will work on that for my next playthrough in a couple of years time.

I have already done quite a bit of exploration and have a very nice stash of meds and food etc so can just get on with main game quests for now :D
Around 30ish hours, although I didn't do that much exploring and just got on with the missions.
After the "point of no return" things did get a bit janky (crashes, dumb AI, bullets flying through walls etc), so quite a few more patches are needed + it's a bit annoying to only get some good gear end game and not be able to use it in the zone.
Definitely worth the £32 I paid though :)

Just on a Sunday morning stroll around the zone. Found a mist anomaly and genuinely one of the most disturbing in game experiences I ever have had. Not because of the fact there were mutants, but the way the entire place messed with your head in a Groundhog Day without the funny bits. It took me a while to figure out how to get out of the place.

Completed it mate.

Worth every penny, first time in a long time I've finished a game and just wished there was a little more. Really hoping there are some major updates in the future for new content. Credits were heart breaking at points.

I was looking forward to this game for 15 years, bought limited edition, and then played for 3 hours and quit it.
It is so weird, knowing I have it installed and not wanting to play it.
But I know it is brilliant in its core, but I just want to wait until it is the best it can be. So I will just wait for all the patches and expansions.

I'm doing the same. I don't want the present issues with the game to ruin an experience I've been waiting so long for.

I will replay it if it gets patched and compare but in the meantime I am getting exactly what I expected. I played the originals and found them buggy messes with serious performance issues, yet still fun. I never thought a-life was that special and it took modders to fix it. I also never modded them ever on my play throughs.

So I know from experience that things like a-life, the AI and even the world in the unmodded originals were not even close to these “utopian” everything was perfect and this new version is some terrible pretender.

I just think many people view the unmodded originals through rose tinted glasses. And if you are judging Stalker 2 against the original heavily patched over many years, or even a version heavily modded by community mods, well that’s not a fair comparison.

The originals were heavily criticised for poor performance and being loaded with many serious bugs. They reviewed well but not exceptionally because of these shortcomings.

Really enjoyed the original and clear sky, this sounds like a proper sequel (good and bad-wise) but I will definitely be leaving it for a bit until it's stable.

The Zone sounds great again, looking forward to going back.

Is there a MOD for carry weight? That is the one unsufferable thing I refuse to do in games, being unable to move in a flippin' video game because your super soldier picked up a hat (I had no mods for the original stalkers, not doing that again, it's no fun when picking up one or two armours breaks the gameplay).

There is an artefact you can pick up quite early which allows you to carry an extra 40 kg

WeMod is free and can do that for you, amongst many other options.

Yea that was annoying af

I need to go artefact hunting, the only ones I have stop a bit of bleeding at the expense of massive radiation!

I am only early on in game so will have a run around the Lesser Zone later.

I haven't searched much at all for artifacts yet, though somehow, I've managed to come by about half a dozen. Most, if not all, are lower ranking ones.
