Stalker 2

Yeah, you need to get out of the “kill everything” mentality in this game. Every unnecessary encounter reduces ammo, weapon and armour wear.

Also when artefact hunting unequip your weapons and even armour if you can. They can heavily affect wear.

Those glass artefacts are among the worst. If they block your way you can duck through them and take no damage, but your equipped gear will drop 5 - 10% wear.

If they can get the a-life bug as well as some of the very bugged missions fixed, this would by my GOTY. Even now it has been better than some of the other overhyped turgid muck.

I still haven't crashed again after switching to modded fsr3 frame gen. Ridiculous how I've had to revert to a modded version of an included feature just to get it to work properly.

On another note I seem to have got the game's knickers in a twist as have a completed mission that won't properly complete, an NPC that won't appear where he's supposed to, and I'm suddenly being attacked by NPC's that were giving me quests 1 minute ago. I think I'm going to need to revert to an earlier save because things are a mess.

How good the AI with shooting and flanking you?

been playing GAMMA and the AI has been really good, they home in on your last position so pop shot and flank works well :D

Don't seem that good tbh.

I got flanked one time so far, and I can't guarantee the enemy didn't just spawn there.
the AI seems kinda cautious when attacking and not totally dumb, but nothing special at the same time.

Noticed people on the forums saying the second half of the game is quite lifeless and dull. Exploring doesn't really reward you so it has a negative impact due to all the resources you have to use to do so. Is that true?

I’ve found nothing other than a few generic med kits and beers in almost every stash, so I’ve mostly stopped bothering. Plus the risk usually ends up costing more in repairs. I don’t even engage with mutants anymore unless given no choice. Still loving the game though. It’s great at building tension, even if most of the time there is nothing around.

the only exploration that's worth it is the stashs for delux/ultimate editions, I think they are called journalist stashes.
other than that artifact hunting if you want to make money.

I'm only about 25 hours in though, It's not like the games maps are full of interesting encounters apart from t he very start there's a couple.
I found one guy on a wooden crate in an anomaly asking for help but he wouldn't follow me :/

They had to release before they could fully flesh out the world, and there was supposed to be multiplayer? which AFAIK is still coming
Although not sure what type of multiplayer

Not the experience I've had to be fair, there is a lot of hidden stashes with unique weapons/armour, legendary artifacts and plenty of unique locations to explore outside of the main storyline even late game. There is a higher density of stashes early game but its generally low value loot. I'm holding off progressing beyond Pripyat to what I figure is end game sequence. I'm now going back and exploring and still finding unique and useful equipment. My main push at the moment if to find the rest of the Legendary artifacts.

Really not the case, whilst the Journalist stashes are fantastic especially early game. There are still plenty of unique and powerful weapons/armour etc to find out in the zone in standard edition.

Finished it today, and was rather hoping for NG+, but nope.
Shame as it would have been fun to start again with the
Gauss rifle
and other stuffs, but there's always console commands I guess.

How long did it take you?

I have so many games to play now that I am thinking I will stick to main quests only with a bit of exploration if and when I fancy it.

Seems exploration is not as rewarding as it is in Fallout games. I guess they will work on that for my next playthrough in a couple of years time.

I have already done quite a bit of exploration and have a very nice stash of meds and food etc so can just get on with main game quests for now :D

About to wrap up the game here and have to say, appreciated the warning about unfinished business. I was far too eager to see what happens. A lot of plot being chucked the players direction in the closing parts, have to say though, really have enjoyed getting to this stage and absolutely WILL be playing through again probably a lot sooner than with most.

I know others have answered this but from my experience, this is not accurate. The majority of stashes are worthless to be fair but now and again exploration pays off. I got some power armour reasonably early, also some very nice weapons that once modded are essentially end game stuff.

Some of the best kind of exploration is for artefacts. I spend an evening looking around the map for obvious signs of artefacts, such as large clumps of anomalies, or weird geographical features are a good source. I ended up with three mid tier weight artefacts, a thunderberry and a strong rad protection artefact. All of these put my carry weight to 130kg and I can recover endurance in a few seconds. This really does render making money so much easier.

For me the emptiness adds to the tension, you almost lul yourself into a false sense of security, then you stumble across some mutants. Or get caught up in a firefight between rival factions.

Is it perfect, not close because some of the QoL and immersion can be janky when it clearly bugs out. But I really am enjoying my play through and have already seen where some of my choices could make a very different outcome.

Just had my 5th crash, but not bad for over 47 hours play.
I did have MSI Afterburner running.

I'm at the point where I'm trying to escape the swamps.
