Stalker 2

With many games these days that boat, it seems, has long since sailed. AAA titles or not, there is so much to continue fixing post release these days. It has become normalised to release unfinished products, myriad of reasons no doubt, and to push humongous updates to a larger group of free paying beta testers, the buyers.
Can't see that changing, one of the negatives of so many having faster internet connections, not all though.

I could phone you and recite the game in binary if you want then you just enter that into your computer

Do you ever notice that when you're inside a building looking out through a doorway, it appears brighter outside, but as soon as you step out, it feels darker?
The balance of glare / dark is wrong, or doesn't adjust fast enough. I had this problem with one of the Uncle Lyonya quests. I couldn't see out of the building to shoot anyone. I had to leave and run laps of the building shooting as I went, because there was no cover.

Lol, not sure why but that reminded me of the old days of typing in game code, well my wife would read it out and I would type, from listings in a magazine, for the Spectrum. We would typically spend ages doing that, as long trying to debug. Then, the following month the corrections would be printed..!

Not much has changed, just the means of doing it really.

I understand why they want to fix the mechanics and bugs before making it look pretty. I've stopped playing for now (about 50 hours in) and I'll probably start a new game when hardware RT is available.

Like most people I guess, have soooo much other stuff to play, I'm doing the same and will hold off until h/w RT is implemented.

Apprently this is why they had to ditch NV too. Seen some people saying its an unreal 5 thing?

Has the new patch improved performance?

I'm playing 3440x1440 on a 9070XT and I'm hitting 175fps consistently (with FSR3/FG on) and I'm CPU bound on a 7950X3D. It's absolutely flying!

I think I'm only about half way through but ready to uninstall.

They should have made the map half the size, moved the points of interest much closer together and it would have been far more enjoyable for it.

Yup I keep dipping back in to finish it but look at the objective - 1km away, nope can't be bothered wading through brown forest all the way there to wade back overweight chugging energy drinks to haul enough loot to afford to repair my kit.

When you think about when you buy the game you are paying them for the privilege of being a Beta Tester . Winners

Sadly, it isn't just this game that does that.
Cities Skylines 2 was a disaster of a launch and still cannot be ran on consoles.
There seems to be so much pressure fun publishers (?) these days to get partially finished games out and generating revenue.

Not sure why, but since this last update for this game mine just shows in Steam "corrupted update files". Verified files. I have removed the game, deleted the Steam cache, and still the same.
Meh, still got others to play..!

Yep just a nightmare better left on the shelf and come back to it towards the year end, hopefully it will be close to being finished.

And you're paying for high early release...might as well leave it until it's on 80% sale a couple of years after release. Like Cyberpunk

Indeed.....
