Stand-out moment

For me, my best multiplayer experience happened on PC. I was playing the original Day of Defeat on dod_anzio.

I looked through the window of the little shed and saw someone on my team staring back at me. I was looking for some time as it was quite a nice shot with the shadows etc. Then I saw an axis member sneaking up behind him and beat him to death with his spade. This was ****ing terrifying. Always remembered it.

Also, every moment in Half Life 2 was epic.

Certainly the trip up to see Dr Breen was epic. Strapped into that pod, watching all the different Combine aliens being made and the first close-up encounter with a Strider.

Ooh yeah. I really like the purely cinematic chapters such as 'Red Letter Day' and 'Black Mesa East'.

Yeah, the first strider fights were amazing.

Also, the final scene of Episode 2 was insanely good.

Ah and Ravenholm!

Yeah, the first strider fights were amazing.

I was thinking more of the pod sequence still. When three striders are in the Citadel and the pod gets closer to them until your feet are just a few meters above them. I was expecting the pod to crash at that point and you have to fight them. :D

By a country mile - 'That' bit in Bioshock about half through.

Not the start when you arrive at Rapture and not the end.

(You'll know if you've played it).

The Jenny bit in 'The Darkness' too (fab game)

Just the bit where Alyx says "We don't go to Ravenholm any more"

That single line and the way it is said is one of the most powerful things I've ever heard in a videogame, sends shivers down my spine.

The women that voices alyx is one of the best voice actresses i've ever heared. Stunning work, quite easy on the eye too!

These are all fairly recent. I remember seeing the visuals on an Amiga 500 for the first time - Shadow of the Beast. :D "Wow! Look at that parallax scrolling!"
