Star Swarm - Oxide bench thread

The rules have changed I don't know how many times andy/greg.

Again the thread has been anything but friendly-common sense is the polar opposite to what's went on in here.:p

The exact opposite, probably due to the nature of what StarSwarm sets out to achieve.

'My gpu got smashed so lets change the output yada yada yada.';)

It's gregs views that are open for individual thought on what went wrong in this thread not mine, no use pondering on why no one's submitting results any more, it's painfully obvious.:p

I cant be ***** with BM threads any more greg, as like this one, they are wide open to user manipulation, validity of results in general is questionable to say the least.:cool:

if you actually read the thread, you'll realise that what happened was that people complained that the Follow profile was too inconsistent, DL found some settings that were far more repeatable but then other people complained that setting up a Custom profile was too difficult

after all the changes, due to popular demand, the board was wiped and only results that followed the format were posted to the new board

Greg was not the instigator of changes, he took on what people were asking for and tried to accommodate as many people as he could, the consensus (of which I was against) decided they wanted the default scenario and default settings

and despite doing what people asked him to, he's still copping flak from people who can't be bothered to just copy and paste and make it clear their run was as per the OP

it is a shame that no one with a mantle capable card seems to want to showcase mantle's performance by posting results

Rules still too hard ya reckon?

Obvious bait that get's a reply and then it's the same old please keep the thread on topic. Don't bait and the thread will stay on topic.

Lets get this back on topic. No baiting please.

Have I done something wrong? My results seem rubbish

I wouldnt worry too much about fps, the way the demo works is that it varies the loading, if you get a run with high load (lots of batches) then you get low fps, it isnt a benchmark as such

Tommy, you keep talking like greg is trying to rig the results, but it was the "red" train that wanted the default settings

If you want the "custom" scenario, start a new thread and i'll post my results there too

@andy,

there's three train of thoughts regarding this thread, preference to red, ones green, the other one doesn't care.:)

@greg,

not in the habit of reporting to mods myself, no I don't have a problem and emails aren't happening-once bitten and all that.:)

Fair enough. Now drop it please (like I asked last time) :)

Tommy, you keep talking like greg is trying to rig the results, but it was the "red" train that wanted the default settings

More like manipulate what could/couldn't be used, rigged is harsh, the red team asking such questions isn't very hard to grasp since they can bench twice v's singular benching, no?

It's in writing for all to see, scores achieved being the fastest on the www is sure to be questioned too.

An Nvidia idealist in control of a Mantle based results thread sent alarm bells ringing a while back, considering the stink a few pages back for results not being added, yours gets added, response after a question is received with accusations of derailment too-and here we are for right/wrong@ocUK forums.

Just jogging this thread for anyone to get some results in before DX12 hits us. Please follow the rules and remember, it is a bit of fun :)

Ok guys, post your bench results here for the Star Swarm - Oxide benchmark.

Rules.

1. List your GPU and CPU and what the clock speeds are.
2. Add "Official entry" to the top/title of your post.
3. Users can alter the deferred contexts number to 1 (from 0) if you wish (steam/steammaps/common/star swarm benchmark/assets/settings_Extreme.ini
4. Click Follow and click Extreme and then choose either "Start Mantle" or "Start D3D" (as shown in the spoiler)
5. Copy and paste you complete results with the rest of the info.
