Generations better than it gets credit for, first contact v.good, insurrection very meh and nemesis a very mixed bag.

One thing I always bemoan is the Ent D never getting a proper movie quality hero scene outside getting bashed by an old bop.
I believe they wanted it gone as someone made the decision the model didn’t look great from certain angles. I think offset by the fact it looks amazing from others…
Ds9 ironically kinda rectified it by showing galaxy class ships bruising their way through cardassian fleets. But still would have loved to have seen a one on one with a d’deridex (my other fav model). Think they planned such a scene with the ent chasing away the romulan ship that attacked the observatory Soran was on, but cut it out :(

Still hoping the Big D makes an appearance, the opening scene from season 1 alone was :cool:

D'deridex was a monster sizewise, and given how easily the Galaxy was batting Cardy ships around, the Romulans getting involved with the Dominion War should have been a pretty quick win, shapeshifters imitating high up's aside..

The Romulans in the Dominion war basically were like a wet fart in a crowded stuck lift. They dedicated an entire episode to bringing them into the war, and then basically anytime you see a warbird it's just floating along or getting its ass handed to it. It dwarfed just about every other ship besides maybe the Klingon flagship and that large dominion ship that the red squad derp brigade took on. Yet it never got its due on screen, it was basically a background ship for the Dominion war. Would have been nice to see it taking on other ships and dishing out a slapping but that never happened.
 
Finally caught up with S3, the show needed time to grow its legs so I'll forgive the problems in S1 after the reboot but this is what S2 should have been in the first place.

A final story and proper goodbye to TNG crew. Really enjoying it :)
 
Enjoying some of Picard but man does it feel forced constantly shoehorning the old crew in. Think it could have been approached far better. Some are turning up for their pay checks while Michael Dorn deserves his own spin off series.
 
All this talk of the movies is urging me to maybe do a watch through from the motion picture. I realise I can't remember a single thing about Insurrection whereas I remember large amounts of all the others.

Ok now after seeing all them red threads in jacks mind, and rikers appearance on at the start from changeling, and his face. Im now thinking the dominion is gona destroy the federation with the quickening virus, probs modified so bashier research is useless or little helpful in stopping it. After all the dominion once used that to destroy a race that fked with em once, now its coming again i think, plus the changeling said after we finish with u u wish "dealth would come as a relief".

I don’t tire of seeing the old crew, but I do think it become silly in episode six with the amount of ‘not even slightly subtle’ nostalgia throwbacks. The show was already on a bit of a roll, so it was a little disappointing to see them do this - but I’ll take it as being just a bit of fun. Hopefully, it’s now out of the show’s system and we can get back to more ‘in the moment’ trek.

Episode was meh. Started off well, but too many drawn out speeches by Changeling captain.

Felt like when the bad guy in Bond took the time to explain their evil plan.
She literally divulged how to track/identify them :(
