Star Trek: Picard

Why do they want Picard’s old body if he’s a synth now?
Because his old corpse has his DNA and that they also want Jack, possibly to perform some genetic thing to cause carnage at the special event, in rev3nge for the damage caused to the changlings during the Dominion War

I don't think the changelings are the Big bad here, just foot soldiers, vadic is clearly scared of who she is taking orders from. and who ever is give them has no regard for the lives of the changlings

Yeah it's not perfect or anything. It still has tropes like people can't seemingly hit an enemy even when they set up an ambush and the enemies are all in a nice column walking down a straight/tight corridor of the ship.

But it's the best Trek we've had for years IMO.

And it's got time to tell a decent story now. The best you would get in TNG days was the occasional double episode that had 90 mins of screen time in total.

Weird they didn't have anything with Riker this week actually.

So am I too understand that he did give the titans position away but also included something in the signal so the Titan would know the shrike was coming? You might think there would have been a scene showing that, or maybe it was cut?

Does Tasha Yar turn up this week?

No, but she is in it later on.

There's a temporal rift and the Enterprise K turns up. It seems that when the Enterprise C went back in time to fight the Klingons, Tasha transported herself over to the Romulan ship and the matter stream got duplicated, so her other self went forward in time. Then years later, another temporal rift transported the K back in time to meet both the D (refit) and F in the series finale. She falls in love with a reanimated captain Kirk and they have a son, who then uses the stolen Picard DNA and being part Romulan (because I want a plot hole) goes back in time to help the remans conquer the Alpha quadrant. He takes the body of data back with him, which ends up getting corrupted.

Oddly if this was still the first season, I wouldn't have been in the slightest bit surprised :D

I noticed that, as this weeks was only 46 mins I think.
It might play into a is the Riker the real one or not thing later in teh show maybe?

Starfleet Academy series coming up but it's Kurtzman so will probably be garbage: https://www.engadget.com/paramount-...eries-set-at-starfleet-academy-183059826.html

Edit - also amused at Engadget publishing stories about S3 Picard being bad when over the years they've praised Discovery and Lower Decks all the time. I think it's always Opposite Day over at Engadget.

Edit 2 - Starfleet not Starlet. Bloody autocorrect.
