Star Trek: Picard

anyone else think that Dr. Agnes jurati deep uncover Romulus agent, think about it. we seen how willing romulus agent are will to use sex to get close to their targets (narek) so why not send one to get close to maddox, she be able to see what starfleet were doing with their research, and she in the perfect position to add the code that made them go rogue (we know from e1 that all the syms that went rogue came from her department)

She's an Android.

Ep 6 imho was the strongest episode so far, it still left a lot to be desired for but compared to the last episode which was an absolute abortion to the star trek name, this one has taken a step forward.

Perhaps.
I thought the ending was utter trash, the various earlier discover your dream segment, seemed lifted from a hundred different sources before it.
Even Warhammer books have done this, and significantly better, and years ago.
That ending, ouch, why on earth telegraph it so badly, and then implement it so badly as well.
Utterly pointless.
Provide cover, cuz there's frankly NO NEED AT ALL.

I think Agnes is or thinks she is a fed agent, as i think the feds/roms are working together on this whole syns business.

Episode 6 was better

Unfortunately it feels like they are trying too hard to avoid making it another TNG whilst filling episodes with nods to it. In fact all the best bits are these.

I’m watching best of both worlds tonight,

This was a better episode, though again when you think about it the story only advanced incrementally. Everyone asking Jurati if she was okay was some very clunky foreshadowing. I did not like Picard applauding when Raffi got him temporary diplomatic status for a visit to Hugh - did he not realise she just blackmailed an old friend and burnt that friendship on the altar of Picard's last hurrah? Not something Picard would be cheering.

Just watched episode 5 and it really isn't improving. It's an absolute mess of a story if you ask me. No clue what's going on half the time. I'm done with this now I think.

They are trying too hard to make it something star trek isn't. All the nods and foreshadowing and double crossing just feels forced.

I'll see it to the end now I'm in but it's hit the stage of watching with my phone.

Missed a trick in my opinion at the end of this weeks episode. Instead of having Elnor pop up out of nowhere (how did he manage to beam through all the security to the exact room Picard was in anyway??), I would have done the scene like this :

Soji, Hugh and Picard run to the queens chamber , past that former borg who says "Locutus?" , upon reaching the chamber Hugh points out that the device needs time to charge up and Soji mentions that many romulans are on the way. So Hugh presses his hand against a panel in the chamber and several borg drones step out of hidden alcoves in the chamber, Hugh then says to them "Protect Locutus" and the drones form a wall in front of Picard and fight the oncoming Rolumans allowing them all to escape via the device.

At least thats how I would have done the scene, makes more sense to me because as it stood I dont really see why that former borg said "Locutus?" , seems an irrelevancy.

CBS thinks that all the people watching wouldn't know Picard (and Locutus) from TNG so they have to be reminded. I guess CBS think they are getting loads of new viewers and just not the existing Trek fans.

I agree that Space-Elf wouldn't have just been able to beam in and get to Picard in a secret room on a highly secure Borg cube research station. As usual the writers gloss over an obvious plot hole that doesn't make sense, because it looks cool to have Space-Elrond do a bit of ninja swordplay and then have a last stand (that he no doubt will make a miraculous escape from with no explanation by the next episode).

Klingons were known for it, Romulans weren't. Plus the Klingons always had disruptor sidearms, unlike katana boy.

Yup. The only reason a Klingon would stand at the end of a hallway, knowing a bunch of soldiers with hand cannons are coming, weilding nothing but a batleth would be if that Klingon knew he was brown bread and wanted to die with honour. Elnor could have just left with Picard...the guy he's supposed to be protecting :o

maybe the writers forget its not a cameo role.
or did he play a very young boy in a star trek episode and they failed to remind us.

him staying behind made no logical sense to me

Yes, poor poor writing, They could have all run through the portal, but now we have some stupid story arc with space elf trapped and Picard feeling bad, it is only Picard in terms of Patric Stewart, quite frankly its Trash.

Well I'm enjoying it, though I'm not a committed Trekkie or anything.

Watched TNG, DS9 and Voyager growing up.
Skipped Enterprise and Discovery entirely.
Enjoyed the original and rebooted films.
