**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

Is the old STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ II that's on steam for £6.99 worth a go?..is it any good?..the multiplayer? :)

I enjoyed it in its day although it's not aged well and the servers from Gamsespy are no longer operational. You could get it to play with additional software for mp although I doubt there would be many playing it. I don't know if I'd pay 6.99 for it. Wait for a Steam sale. I'm pretty sure it was only a couple of pounds in one before.

Beautiful looking game and very star wars like but urgh..... that gameplay is just ****ing awful looking, still got my money on this game dying a quick death just like titan fall & hardline.

We as gamers should stand united and not prepurchase any games and wait for them to be released and see how the land lies. This way shody game development will not be rewarded with our hard cash!

Can you explain me which are the purchase options? I've heard of a season pass but is that pre-order only? Afaik it comes with the deluxe package which I'm not interested in and most of all I'd like to play it a bit before wasting the hundred on it. Possible? Also, anything about the dlc schedule (those included in the season pass but not only those)?

Try telling that to some people in the gpu section  Unfortunately too many people just love to bend over for companies. Because of pre-ordering this is why we get day 1 dlc, season pass ****, half arsed releases.

There is zero advantage to pre-ordering a game these days unless you badly want to get a physical item or/and have the ****test internet speed where it will take days/weeks to download. Unlike what some foolishly believe.... I think these publishers/developers that are worth millions can afford to finance a game, if they can't then they should set up a kick starter or just not bother at all.

You got that right, there starting to take the mick, but people dont listen.

Did they just get random people to do the voice overs? None of them really sound like who they're meant to be.

Also "Gold leader we're outnumbered" is responded to with "never tell me the odds"?

TBH the last time I saw a good value pre-order bonus was for steam games. They give you a seemingly worthless hat or suchlike and a couple of years later this digital item which cost nothing for the company to produce is worth something.

Digital economy is nuts IMO.

Wasn't BF4 including all content around £50.00 direct from origin? This is over £90.00?! Even through a key site, at launch it would be around £60?

This game had some good singleplayer potential if done correctly and with heart.. But they went for casual MP and make no SP at all.. Shame cause gfx and sounds are quite sexy tbh

Yup, even with the **** MP, if there was a good 15+ hour single player, I would have happily paid £40 for it.

Name any 'AAA' shooter in the last 2-3 years with a 15 hour single player.

Longest one I can think of is wolfenstein new order which I have 12 hours played, and I'm 2/3rds of the way through my second playthrough.

My stealth playthrough of metro last light is on 15 hours, including a restart.

Watched a video last night with a guy ranting for 18 minutes about the game, would have been amusing if he wasn't a Star Wars anorak and spent 10 minutes bitching about inaccuracies in the em11 blaster, storm trooper gloves\uniform and Vaders helmet dome....i **** you not.

I won't directly link to the vid because of swearing but his channel is here.
