Since this is a reboot and the decent looking Battlefront 3 was canned the next EA Battlefront will be Battlefront 2.

I'm guessing we're only getting 4 Walker Assault maps then? All the other maps will be for different game modes.

Think they are really missing a trick here - with a bit more work and a little larger scale (32v32 etc.) the assault type maps could do the whole enemy territory (the first one) thing quite well.

I am going to keep my pre-order. I'm not looking for the next proper BF experience yet (and this certainly isn't that), but this + BF4 should keep me going as drop in MP games while I get lost in the fallout 4 wasteland.

LOL I was joking when I said 79.99, EA beat me to it.... and then some!


That can **** right off, this went from being a maybe/probably yes if it was £35 to a definite nope.

No company can get away with charging that amount for so little, and I'd rather not support EA with the standard version if thats what theyre up to.

Indeed. I dread to think what they've got planned in the way of micro transactions to further milk people as well. Struggling to digest the price here.

I'm not digesting it at all, its not gonna happen.

Based on the final gameplay, reviews and user reviews if its promising I may have stumped up £40 for something to play over christmas, no preordering involved. Theres no guarantee how good the DLC will be either so its an immediate no

Have to say based on the beta I'd have probably bought it without another thought at £30-35 at £40+ just for the basic edition I'm struggling with justifying the price based on what I've seen and I'm not even particularly cash strapped (right now).

After playing this a lot over the weekend my biggest gripe has to be the sniper rifle. Firstly why is there a sniper rifle in a star wars game and secondly its extremely annoying as so many people are using it and you just keep getting shot from miles away by it too many times. I feel like I'm forced to equip it myself just because I get so annoyed being sniped that I want to do it back to people in return lol.
If they removed that it would be much more fun as I just see too many people camping in spots and using nothing but that sniper.

Agree 100% and have done the same, athough it does exist in star wars lore it shouldn't be necessary in the game.

But you've got to satisfy the BF3/4/5/6/7 campers aka snipers somehow

If you are getting dominated by the sniper rifle its probably due to there being 1 or more hackers (aimbot) on or you are spending way too much time standing still - its not trivial to use it effectively against moving targets.

Unfortunately as can be seen by the almost constantly scrolling fairfight bans there is no shortage of people cheating
