Star Wars: Force Unleashed Demo

I agree, I could not target anything I wanted to, its sometimes too sensivite, the targets should cycle like pretty much every other game like this.

Other than that though it looks promising.
I think i would have preffered another KOTOR game as sometimes a lightsaber is no match for a good blaster at your side!

Which store did you download it from?

Short demo but very good nonetheless. Targeting is a bit funky at times, but your health regeneration is so much that you could stand their all day and pin point what you want without dying.

Graphics are amazing too in some parts, especially on the characters face. Liked the metal bending aswell on doors and the arches in the open area. May purchase if i can find it at a reasonable price.

This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

I guess thats why you cannot get on with it, we have alread established your are both uncivilised and clumsy :p

Am I shocked you cannot aim properly?

No, well you are more Jawa than Boba.

Downloading now, as a totally SW nut that has read just about every post ROTJ book I have high hopes for the game and a bad feeling about how this is going to crap all over the SW story.

Just played the demo.

Pro's
+Good combos and you can vary the force into each combo
+Visually great in most places
+Physics are very good and I love bending doors and breaking windows into the vacuum of space
+Lightsabers have cool burn effect on walls, me likely!

Con's
-Can't move and deflect blaster shots, leads to getting pummeled when running to further enemys, especially against the AT-AT (Two legged thing)
-Can be overwhelming with many enemies shooting you and I end up jumping and getting stuck mid air in some lightsaber combo frenzy whilst being shot and not moving.
-Targeting can be slightly twitchy

I am probably playing it wrong or haven't learnt the moves to deflect yet, so only minor niggles.... I really enjoyed my first play through, will give it another stab later. I did it on normal difficulty and died when fighting the two legged thing, but beat it second time by cutting it in half! :D

Based on the demo - 9/10. Really enjoyed the demo, will be purchasing the game at launch.

I havent played it yet, But I'm guessing deflecting blaster shots must be possible. So possibly a skill you learn later? In the full game?

I'm currently playing Too Human, So will move onto Force Unleashed later.

I had a quick playthrough once and i just found the combat incredibly clunky coming from ninja gaiden. Specificly how long it takes to stand still then block using left trigger, then release and start moving again. Along with targeting i was actualy struggling to get along with the game almost. Of course the force powers and combos are great fun. But the quicktime event suprised me, just when i was hoping i'd seen the last of them with mass effect.

Quite enjoyed the demo. Just learned a neat new trick as well. While doing a lightsabre combo if you press y you will imbue your lightsabre with lightning for its next attack. Looks cool and is quite powerful :)

Brilliant, i really loved it and im so gonna preorder it:)

BTW its the left trigger to deflect blaster shots:)

I know it's left trigger... but what I said was that you can't deflect while running or walking, you have to be stationary. Which is useless, considering you want to move towards your enemy to use your close combat renders blocking pretty useless you need to recover force power.

meh average bargain bin buy for me

clumsy combat and force powers does not seem to run that great very good you can hold someone in the air forever soon wears thin

you hit a guy with a red hot light saber it barely scatches him but hit him with a crate instant death

If you really want to damage somebody, this is the tried and tested method

Fart-lighting youth in petrol can mishap
A 12-year-old Tipton lad has demonstrated why it's a really bad idea to light your own farts in close proximity to a can of petrol, after he did just that and ended up with 18 per cent burns to his thumb and the backs of his legs.

Tipton firemen duly attended the scene of the mishap, but the small blaze resulting from the incendiary tomfoolery had already burned itself out, the Telegraph notes. Watch commander Paul Harpin explained: “The boy had been pranking around in the garden having a competition with his cousin, when they were breaking wind and lighting it. Right behind him was a petrol can and that just flashed. I think he must have won the competition but he will have some nasty burns now."

Officers administered first aid awaiting the arrival of medical operatives who whisked the victim to Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley. Harpin concluded with the obligatory: “It is a warning not to mess around with fire." ®

The bold text is my own emphasis, as it made me laugh out loud, because I'm a big child! :o
