Star Wars VIII : The Last Jedi [WARNING: SPOILERS]

It's a waste of time and just makes actual fans look silly trying to get Disney to "non-canon" the sequels via a petition. Even worse it just gives morons the ability to point at it and shout "look at the toxic fandom" to the press even more. The best thing OG fans could do is just ignore any more Disney SW stuff and just enjoy the OG SW stuff, even if that means ignoring some of the really good Filoni stuff unfortunately.

What sequels?

Ole George was caught red handed throwing complete shade on the sequels a few weeks ago.

He said he had nothing to do sequels and the first 6 are all him and that they are timeless and Disney went down a different route lol.

The only discrimination in his world was against the droids.

So yeah what sequels?

Still not seen Ep 9, was kinda jaded after number 8 and the shows on Disney+ more than scratched the itch for star wars content...

After 8 I just didn't really care how any of it panned out to be honest

The FX folks did great work but it's a real case of "making a silk purse from a sow's ear".

Thats the biggest shame for me, the production work (everything from set build/design to costumes to VFX/Sound etc) was stunning yet massively let down by a poor story/script, just the same way that I think Ep8 went too.

I'm sure they all good paid handsomely for their work but, wow, it must have been so disheartening to see the final film and witness the fan reception. Then all the "you're all racists and haters" tosh from LF senior execs must've rubbed salt directly into raw wounds.

The last movie was a rush release, you would think for these movies they would have had an outline of the do's and don't before starting to make them. But for a multi billion dollar company that would be too logical a thing to do. Johnson must have been shagging Kennedy to get doing what he wanted on tlj, he was pretty much a nobody at that point especially when it came to making anything with a stupidly large budget.

What bugged me than anything else is its just a recycling of the same tired plot but hijacked by a feminist agenda 'all men have failed/useless lets have a female protagonist do... exactly the same story all over again! Yeah! Because we all need to be beaten over the head with feminist agenda/ideology"

Just come up with some original stories for god's sake, is that too much to ask? Or have studio bean counters become so risk averse that anything that deviates from established lore/story/backstory is too much of gamble other than try and appeal to a female/feminist audience as opposed to traditional male centric stories? Apparently yeah.

Is KK finally getting removed from Starwars?

Some very strange leaks resolving her from any wrong doing also defending JJ. He never wanted to do the films without Lucas.

That Forbes article attacking Bob seems to have a lot of people scared!!!

There are rumours swirling around at them moment, but they are just that. All of Lucasfilm social media accounts went silent last week, and there were rumours that Disney has cracked the whip and said if you are attacking fans (ie customers) on social media, that's now incompatible with employment there. Then there were "official" leaks claiming that everything was rosy at Lucasfilm, and Jon Favreau and KK were all friendly and chummy with each other, there never was an internal war at Lucasfilm, and there is a JJ cut of Episode VIII that the fans would love (in wake of the Synder Cut success). This week the rumours are (as we've seen before) that KK is gone and her contract has not been reviewed.

Mind you, we've seen rumours like this previously. KK is rumoured to have survived by playing the gender card, especially when the Fox acquisition was in progress and Disney didn't want to rock the boat with her firing. She knows a lot about who was involved in trips to Epstein Island. At the last Disney financial conference, questions were asked about KK and Gina Carano (surprisingly this was allowed) and words were chosen very carefully. It was pointed out that although this looked like support by Disney for KK ("Kathy is great and we're lucky to have her"), the opportunity to say she was staying with the company and her contract renewed was not taken.

The Forbes article, the tanking numbers of Wandavision and Falcon/Winter Soldier, cancelling of Disney+ subscriptions in the wake of Carano's firing, poor sales of High Republic, poor response to the new trilogy attractions at the theme parks, etc. All of this has the shareholders worried. They are seeing the money drop and the IP damaged. The current rumours may be preparing the way for KK to "retire" or be set up elsewhere with her own production company after Disney doesn't renew her contract. The question is then how much KK burns to the ground on the way out.

Haven't seen the latest figures but have all those shows combined even came close to the return of Luke Skywalker yet?
