Schools ought to take a tougher line and tell students that they will be suspended, expelled if they insist on cutting school to go and protest. Especially as during school term they are under responsibility of the school, so this must be a nightmare for the school that this girl came from.

While I was over in australia recently, they held a protest which was made up solely of schoolkids..They took them all out of school especially to protest the war....Im not even sure it was done completely voluntarily in many cases..

Of course, its stupid to believe that all of those kids are against the war..Im sure most just want to get out of school and have some fun.

Companies bidding for the Iraq clean up process. Contraversially the burning oil well cleanup contract has already been awarded to a Texas based Oil Fire Fighting company which used to be run by Dick Cheney.... Hmm.....

"Oil Fire Fighting company "

Sounds just about the right company to do the job imo!

BBC : Al Jazeera television broadcasts images of two dead soldiers and two prisoners of war, all said to be British.

:(

'BRITISH PRISONERS PARADED'

What are claimed to be two UK prisoners of war and two dead British soldiers are reported to have been shown on an Arab TV network.

The PoWs are reported to have been shown on Al Jazeera television following a battle at al Zubayr, near Basra.

The video obtained by the station showed two bodies in uniform lying on their backs and two PoWs looking sombre.

The station did not say where the video came from.

Al Jazeera has already been criticised by the White House for showing footage of American PoWs.

More follows . . .

No.

Whether the picture was supplied by Iraq or not, they should not show pictures of Dead PoWs on tele. Its not allowed iirc.

Its also pretty sick. At least have their faces covered, and make it look like you are not so smug about them being dead!

I'm with him ^^^^^.

Even by watching a 'Bridge Too Far' you could work out that the current situation is similar. A stretched and relativily lightly defended supply line is bound to be counter-attacked.

BTW, started to listen to the Bush speach in Tampa, but I've got sick of Yanks whupping and cheering at the end of just about every sentence!! Sure, big cheers at the start and end of the speech are to be expected. But the way it keeps going on at the moment, a 10 minute speech is about to last 2 hours :) (Actually, its quite scary in a way cos it slightly reminds me of the speeches Hitler would make. Throw a couple of sentences of rhetoric out, crowd goes wild, then a few more sentences, crowd goes wild. and repeat for half an hour)

Its all patriotism:) although it is very tedious

I fully understand its patriotism, nothing wrong with it.

I prefer the British approach where we politely wait until the end (or at least let them say more that 10 consective sentences) before we clap.
A nation of people who like to wait in order, and queue ehhh ;)

I agree. Especially when your trying to listen to the speech and like you say a ten minute speech last 2 hours and there is more cheering than the actual speech:p

Its the same with TV shows. there is a half hour of the show and another half hour of adverts in between the show:rolleyes:
