Steam Auction

Missed everything worth buying this year, didn't realise the badges started so early and the gem bags! - Been trying to play catch up trading... :(

Managed to get some badges done & still not lost profit, plus people are trading holiday cards for normal cards, so profit to be had!

Christmas sale isnt on yet.........

Just notices bags of gems are selling for a about 50p. Just sold all mine so i can buy more trading cards.

Just not worth bidding on any of the games. some games have like 100,000 gems bid on them, if you were to sell that amount of gems you world get like £44, and might as well just buy the game.

And the holiday profile with over 1,200,000 equates to £600, that is just crazy money

Can it work out cheaper to buy the gems and bid, rather than buy the game in cash though?

Seems to be the case for at least a few. I've an eye on a game which at the moment is going for 1,100 gems. If you bought two sacks for £1.50 you'd be guaranteed to get it with gems left over, or the cash price is £5.99.

Assuming nobody one-ups your bid anyway.

Ahh, thanks, I didn't know that. Think i'll at least place a bid then. Just spotted a game I wouldn't mind adding to my collection, so hopefully I can win that.

The auction hasn't turned out too bad once the initial silly bids have gone.

Just won Broken Sword 4 as it was the only one i didn't have in my collection. Got it for 2300 gems, which cost me £1.30, so not too bad.

Could have got it for free if I hadn't been so quick to sell my gems off.

how you manged to do that ?

the past two days i waited till about 11.30pm onwards because thats when the bidding slows down and less likely people will up their bid.

i won:
KickBeat Steam
Moorhuhn - Tiger and Chicken
HTR+ Slot Car Simulation
Mana Crusher
Crow
StuntMANIA Reloaded
Cyto
Storm
Super Splatters
DIG IT! - A Digger Simulator
