Steam Deal: Medieval II: Total War™ £2.49

fantastic game its the best out of all the total war games...you need to play it a a high difficulty level though as its way too easy on easier settings....if you want to change your difficulty settings in a game you have already started then download medmanager:)

How dare you!

Rome was obviously the best.

I usually pay more for my lunch than this.... can't complain at that :D

pfft, you're paying far to much for your lunch then, I steal mine off of kids on the way to school in the morning:p

OT, This thread has made me re-install my MIITW and Kingdoms, here goes another load of 2 in the morning jobs with the phrase "just one more round before bed" :(

How long did you guys tend to spend playing an average "long" game? With me it must have been about 3 weeks solid play in the evenings to reach the long winning conditions. I always visited each and every unit evry turn to optimise things, took bloody ages as time went on. The first time I altered the time rate so a turn was 6 months instead of 2 years. Made the aging of the generals more realistic but had the downside of me reaching winning conditions about 200 years before GK was due to make an appearance. Couldn't face continuing with that game cos I would have ruled the known world by the time the Americas opened up. I think it went from a 200 max tun game to like 900. Can someone summarise what the steel thingy mod changes or does btw?

It took me about three weeks to do something roughly like this starting off in Edinburgh:

mapc.jpg

Can't remember the exact settings, or even if it was stainless steel or not.. I was trying for complete map but economy at this point was crazyilly in debt war all along that east/west front and revolts were becoming a problem. I also found Timurids a bit of a handful around jerusalem and then in the north.. I mean common elephants with cannon.

I quit. :p

Spent so many hours playing MII:TW. Completed this along with all of the expansions, except for Britannia which I'm about to win with Wales. If I had one complaint, it's that normal difficulty is way too easy no matter which faction you use. And then when you crank the difficulty up, instead of making the AI any good, it just nerfs the fudgecakes out of your stats. If the AI was a significantly worthier opponent, it would go from a very good game to a masterpiece.

Any mods that fix the game up like that?

I don't get the big deal?

HALF PRICE OMG - except it costs £4.99. Saving of £2.50. How tight do you have to be to care?

Rome was obviously the best.

Rome was good but the armies in Rome all look like clones....

I have had a save game from medievil 2 for about 3 months now but stopped playing to play other games,i did however manage to conquer all of england, scotland, wales, wipe out france and lead a succesful crusade on the byzantine empier and have settlements far out in gaza,egypt...was playing on medium setting and found battles too easy so i got medmanger and went up to hard...gonna go back and continue where i left off on this great game...i too had to restart at one point because i built to many armies and ran out of cash, you need to work slowly increasing your towns, like farming mining etc to increase income, also only leave a minimum amount of garrison in each town/city before rioting as you save a lot on upkeep by doing this :)
