Steam issue HELP

Letting a kid use a credit card is like letting your woman have your wallet, say goodbye to your money.

Thanks Forde. That is sort of what I was getting at. It seems like most of the commenters here bashing my mothers parenting skills do not have kids. or maybe just one young un. Anyways opening up a support thread now and will see what steam says. As for reversing the charges, surly because steam now holds the money and the transaction is complete it would be impossible to reverse?

Calling a dude's mum an idiot and commenting upon their parenting abilities isn't particularly helpful! I agree that the little-un should have been supervised but Jak's explained it tbh.

I was merely replying to the post made in reply to my own earlier post. It is after all impolite not to reply when someone is talking to you :)

I think all the possible help has already been given anyway, ultimately the only possible resolution is going to come from talking to the bank and/or Steam themselves.

Afaik, getting refunds on games that aren't in the pre-order phase is pretty impossible.

Like you said it's £160 ... I'd still try.

Precisely, it cant do any harm and is one possible avenue. If both the bank and Steam say its a no go then you're pretty much stuffed. But better to try and fail than not try at all etc etc.

Plus, revoke the kids internet access for a month as punishment and tell him that he isnt getting that action man figure he wanted for christmas now , thats what kids today want isnt it?

Explain to the bank that he took the card without permission, and made the transactions without her knowledge.

Explain the same to Steam.

thats what i thought wes. Him loosing christmas presents is fine. a suitable punishment for sure. but it kind of ruins the atmosphere as you can imagine. Initial rage seems to have subsided, lucky for him he was at school. No PC for him now either.

reverse the charges? how would i go about doing this?

DO NOT DO THIS

Why would a Steam account be disabled?

Payment Fraud

Any fraudulent credit card use, credit card chargebacks, or Paypal chargebacks (regardless of when the transaction occurred).

Also:

I bought a game with my credit card through Steam and either don't like it or don't want it anymore. Can I get a refund?

Answer

As with most software products, we will not offer refunds for purchases made online as outlined in the software license - please review Section 4 of the Steam Subscriber Agreement for more information.

Basically, if you do a chargeback, the account will be disabled until they get the money back. That means no more playing any games attached to the account.

if mum gets the money back and the account is disabled that is fine. He only has a couple of game (and half of those were gifted by me which i got in the summer sales) seems apt punishment?

Yup, being dishonest/stealing should be punished by taking away his Steam account :)

Btw, I ******* hate teenagers !

hahahaha yeah iv seen that. And my bro has turned into a whinylittle git since hitting his teens, That is the reaction i predict. Already sorted travel to go and see it. Mum is hoping that reversing the charges works and his account is disabled now lol.

im struggleing on how to even word this steam support thing lol.

Hey guys, some of my family are blessed with chronic moronocity and as such ordered a boat load of crap without permission. can we get it back?
