Steam Link and Steam Controller now available to Pre Order

I can vouch for mgs v .. Smooth as butter

Other games I haven't tried
 
As I've shown, its very hit and miss so you may have different luck than others.

I've played Dirt Rally absolutely fine, not a hint to suggest it was being streamed. It looks like an Intel CPU and recent nVidia card are pretty much a necessity though.
 
I don't think games have really much to do with it. You need a decent home network and the hardware to push it.

I think if people have having stuttering on a wired connection it's likely that some setting somewhere isn't configured right. I've tried it streaming to many different devices and its been decent. The link will simplify things further.
 
One of the issues I have seen in games is flickering

Managed to solve it by knocking the refresh rate down to 60 from 144

The only game that this didn't work for was shadow of mordor which flickers so much it's unplayable

Careful, as at the moment, the Steam Link doesn't work with Macs.
 
think im gonna pull the plug on this, but wondering if anyone ordered from Game,... as it seems a better deal., but dont want to be waiting if game dont actaully have stock on release date ?
 
Yeah, but with the cost of shipping from steam it's probably preferable. The bigger issue is that it seems you can only buy the link with a controller, rather than on its own.

Negatives of controller - feels cheaper than Xbox/dualshock. Extended thumbstick use had my thumb hurting, its a bit too low. My right trigger can sometimes become a bit rattly as it moves the bumper above it. Doesn't happen much but its a bit annoying.

Overall though I'm super happy with it. Just wish in home streaming was a bit more reliable, too many times I have to pop upstairs to fix something on the computer (also elite seems to be crashing. Now sure if its streaming or the game. May need driver update). The actual streaming is awesome when it works though, I stream on to my surface and game on the sofa while the gf is watching TV. (I did buy pretty expensive router though to get it working so smoothly, was not so great over WiFi before)

Whoa, you've got me tempted now! Main reason I'd get this is for the mousepad thingy so really glad to hear they didn't mess it up!

Yea, no one in this thread is being honest... Lol ;)

Reviews are mixed due to different PC and network setups. It'll either work or your network/PC will be the issue.
