Steam link gaming thread.

In case anyone didn't know if you have a 2016 onwards Samsung 4k TV. If you change your region to USA you can download the steam link app and directly run it through the Samsung TV without the box. I believe Xbox 360/One controllers work plugged into the TV too along with Steam controller.

Works without setting it to US.
My KS9000 shows the steam link app as available in the apps section. As long as you're on the latest firmware it works fine.

Streaming isn't as smooth as it is on the Steam Link but hopefully that will change as they iron out any issues. Will be good to have the 4k support too :)

Hey everyone,

Thinking of picking one of these up and potentially have a silly question so forgive me.

Once the Steam Link box is linked to your TV and home network - can you play on your TV with your computer turned off? Or does the computer containing your games need to constantly be turned on.

PC needs to be on.

Considering my TV is next to my pc I may as well get a cheap Xbox controller for my pc. Same outcome!

Thanks for the reply!
