Steam sale now .... Off

Here we are again. What are folks buying this time around? I really want Cyberpunk 2077 but it's still a bit pricey for something I don't know if I'd like or not. Might just go for Resident Evil VII and VIII which I haven't played yet.
Do you like RPG games, or enjoyed games like Witcher 3? I played CP2077 at launch and thought it was okay but didn’t live up to the hype, I played it again with v2.0 and the PL expansion and thought it was amazing, so much so that I know I will have a 3rd full play through.

If you’re the type that enjoys exploring and going off the rails to find things for yourself outside of the main story then there is a huge amount of content to find, some of the side quests are mini stories by themselves. And the PL expansion by itself is probably another week or twos content and has a different feel to the main game which is great.

For the money well worth it, at least for me. And if you do buy it through Steam you have that two hour return window, although it probably takes that long just to get through the opening section, in case you get sucked in and lose track of time.

That's the Xbox/Windows Store version. I've already got the DLC for that version (I was playing it on Game Pass), so only need the Standard Edition. Tempted by the Ultimate Edition on Steam though for the Deck.
I know you already have it, but I'd grab ultimate edition (it's what I've done, now like yourself I have both on PC/Xbox and Steam!)

For me, having just got my Quest 3, I'll be grabbing Shooty Fruity for £5.60. Shame that Project CARS 3 isn't on sale!

Besides Hades being £8.39 again and Witcher3 Complete being similar, so a tiny few like me can finally buy them, others that have caught my eye so far are...

Can anyone school me on the Battlefield games and which to buy? They seem to be about £3 each, which looks like a steal.

What do people think of the games in the Need for Speed series? They look a bargain too at around £2-3

Just bought Forza 4. There is nothing like a pending delisting to motivate me to buy a game I have had in my wishlist for ages

Also bought Silent Hill 2 remake, The last of us, Neptunia U, Farcry 5 and have my eye on Detroit become human. Steam should start selling SSDs, they would make a fortune :D

Was thinking of picking up a couple of very heavily discounted games, such as Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, but Stalker 2 is keeping me more than entertained. However, I might weaken yet.

Others I was considering are: Wolfenstein: Youngblood, though that looks to get mixed reviews; Serious Sam 4; Ravensword: Undaunted; Perilous Warp; Outward.

Personally, I'd buy Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1. Maybe Bad Company 2 as the destructible environments are fun and it has a very different tone from the rest of the series (I will be forever heartbroken that they never made a third...). Battlefield 3 is also great, but most of the best maps are in BF4 anyway (it still has merits on its own, but 3 and 4 are quite similar).

An argument could maybe be mounted for BF5 too, though I haven't played much of that. It wasn't well received at launch, but I believe it has its fans now.

The rest... meh. 1942, 1943, 2 and the first Bad Company were all superceded by more recent entries in the series. 2142 offers something different, but is quite old now. Hardline is also very different from other entries in the series, but just wasn't that great. And while I haven't played 2042, I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk positively about it :p

@McPhee I know it wasn't me who asked but thanks for the advice above, purchased according to your recommendation.

Hi thought I would offer my opinion. I don't know why BF 2042 has so much negativity but personally with just under 1000 hours it's well worth getting it particularly how cheap it is. There still a tonne of players playing it and at a guess it's the most active one out of all of them. It's a lot more polished since launch and the class changes are really fun. It's also the newest one so makes sense to get it over the other ones. Ofc just imo.

Hey Kyo, thanks for the this, I actually bought that aswell anyway, seemed sensible for the price right now, hardly losing much if its not my favourite game.

Good to hear, let me know what you think when you have a proper go. For me I like the aircrafts, they are a bit easier to control compared to past BF games . Plus class abilities are quite good with each being useful in certain situations.

Ace Combat 7 for a fiver seems like a no-brainer. Hopefully give some of the old Crimson Skies vibes.

Torn between buying pc GOTY Hot Wheels Unleashed 1 upgrade for ~£7.30, or buying GOTY Edition on Switch for £10.49.

Super useful site I discovered the other day from a HotUKDeals post says Switch deal ends in 4 hours.
