Steam Sales - Are you buying ****?

Only got dear esther and some total war dlc and waiting patiently for lone survivor.

After the last few it's all about planning what you want and trying not to get too into impulse buying (which covers most of the games on my steam)

Got myself E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy, which I've always liked the look of, even if its reputedly a pile of tosh, and Binding of Isaac for the luls (I have trouble getting past the first basement :(). Also got the Alan Wake collection, which I don't even remember buying (lolwhiskey) and Dear Esther.

Some games I've bought because I want to play them, but I'm not prepared to pay full price. Others I've bought that maybe outside of my normal genres but are cheap enough for me to give them a chance. And a few games I've bought I already own and will be giving them away on this forum at some point in the near future.

getting sick of the repeated deals now tbh. I have spent £65 so far on games and only waiting for 2 games to show up. Arma II and The last remnant.

Funny thing is every game I have got apart from 2 I have pirated in the past. The reason I buy them now is because I can afforded them games are way to expensive on release but now some are at great/reasonable prices I buy them.

I will only buy what i'm going to play. Although this is my first steam sale in which I have bought stuff I made a list of games I wanted to get before the Sale started and am sticking to it. At the same time however I put aside £30 for games that pop up on offer that I like the look of.

I've knocked a few things from my Wishlist, but I've also picked up a couple of things that I've been thinking about getting before but haven't.

I've also got a few things because I saw them on offer and thought they looked quite cool - and via this I've discovered SpaceChem, an awesome little game!

So... a bit of everything here!

Everyone whines about how skint they are yet the Steam sales just show people have more disposable income than they think. I'm nothing like the 99% of people during these sales, I wanted Fallout 3 GOTY (which I bought) and Fallout New Vegas (which didn't hit the under £5 sweet spot) which I didn't buy. Honestly, people seem to lack self control these days.

Nope, people just spend money they haven't got on stuff they don't need, then moan about how screwed the economy must be because they haven't got any cash. /rant

I only buy games I am fairly confident will be good - buy rubbish, and it only encourages devs to produce more rubbish. /rant2

Having said that, I'm far from the serial game buyer that some people here seem to be.

Not spent a single penny, I wont buy games just because they are on the cheap besides i already have arma 2(dayz) and natural select 2

Oh and some games are still too expensive even if they are deals!, Age of Empires III for example

I have a few games from the last sale i haven't played yet (The Witcher, Torchlight, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, i only ever played the first one or 2 missions of BF:BC2, and a shed load of indie games) but i know i'll eventually give them a go.

This sale hasn't impressed me much and i actually only just bought my first 2 games. Company of Heroes for £1.74 because i've heard such great things and been fancying q go on a RTS (not played one since Cossacks lol) for a while and Just Cause 2 because it looks awesome and i've looked into buying it before.

Considering buying Bioshock because i've only ever played the demo and i hear people giving it big praise pretty often. So yeah, i'm buying games that i'm actually interested in.
