Steam Summer sale - 19-30th June

Just thought I'd post up about this. I'm not sure why they aren't coming through, but it even says on the main store page of the sale right now that if a game that you want isn't on sale, add it to your wishlist and they'll alert you when it is. But yet all the games on sale on my wishlist haven't alerted me as yet. I don't quite understand...

Maybe they only do it for games you add when the sale is on? 53 on my wishlist & most of them on sale:P

Agh, go on then. Broke the seal with Witcher 2 for £3. Everyone loved it, and despite not getting on with DAO: Origins or Skyrim, I haven't given up on RPGs. Besides, the new one looks good, so may as well get a feel for the storyline.

50% off Assetto Corsa looks good on community choice btw!

Well I added a few this morning so we'll see soon enough, assuming they come up on sale :)

What are people's must-haves from this sale? I've got my eye on Banner Saga, and earlier I picked up Don't Starve and the DLC for that. I'm also hoping Child of Light and Transistor come up on sale too :)

Hotline Miami - Control Pad or Mouse and Keyboard?

works with either but i found it easier with the keyb+mouse.

Just cant beat the mouse for responsiveness.

The biggest gameplay tip for hotline is to make sure you use the shift view button so you can move the camera outside your normal FOV. Its essential for seeing where enemies are laying in wait and then being able to plan your attacks.

Also for ages i didnt realise how powerful the ability to throw your weapon was. Even if its a gun or melee weapon very often if your entering a room with 2 or more enemies its great to throw the weapon at the one furthest away and then rush the closer guy to smash his face against the floor :p

I broke the seal with The Witcher 2, I've never been "into" RPGs, and I purchased Skyrim and spent more time trying to mod it than playing it - but for £3 even if I get a couple of hours out of it, it's better value than going to the cinema.

Start with the first game first, it's great and once you complete it you carry over into the second with the same outfit, it's pretty badass. The one thing I dislike about the games is the non existent choices in armor, so having the best set in the series is damn nice.

Will do. Might have to wait until I've sunk more time into Skyrim though. Having a few years break from PC gaming means a lot of catching up to do!

I really want to play this but I got it last sale and failed so hard at the combat in only the tutorial that I couldn't face continuing. I'm no master of gaming but I don't expect to get whalloped before the game even starts properly!

However... hope is not lost cos a bit of searching over the past few days tells me I'm not the only one that had this problem and there are tips available... Think I'll have to have another crack at it...

Which of the borderlands 2 dlcs are worth getting? Not interested in starting new characters, just want more to explore. Would I be best off with the season pack?

I seem to have games on my wishlist that I haven't a clue as to why they are there. Why have I added "New Beginning - A Final Cut," "Triple Town" and "To The Moon?" LMAO.

Because you read somewhere, sometime that someone said they were supposed to be good.

I have To The Moon on mine too. It's supposed to be good. That's all I know!

:p

Decided to pick up a few games that I should have tried earlier. Complete editions of Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, full Dead Island pack and complete edition of Tropico 4.

Some great deals to be had and Assetto Corsa is only £21!
It's on the community vote for £15 at the mo. So even if it doesn't get voted for, I'm sure it'll drop to that at some point in the sale.

I would imagine so if it can run Portal 2. I can't access this site as my work computer blocks it but you should find your answer here:

www.dontstarvegame.com/specs

or on the Steam store page for the game.

Yeah, I checked the specs

OS: Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8/OSX 10.7 or better/Ubuntu 12.10
Processor: 1.7+ GHz or better
Memory: 1+ gigs of RAM GB RAM
Graphics: Radeon HD5450 or better; dedicated 256 MB or higher (GMA Cards not supported - See below)
DirectX®: 9.0c
Hard Drive: 500 MB HD space
Sound: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card and drivers

He meets them all except the graphics card one. He has 64MB I think, but I think hecan use the RAM too to make up for the difference. Not sure if he has all the pixel shaders and stuff.

There is also this issue though

IntelChipsets (GMA Graphics Cards)
There are some known issues running the game using Intel integrated chipsets. If your GPU (graphics card) has the letters "GMA" in the model number, we won't be able to support it.
To check what kind of graphics card you have, you can perform the following steps in Windows:
Click Start.
On the Start menu, click Run.
In the Open box, type "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Click the Display tab.
On the Display tab, information about your graphics card is shown in the Device section. You can see the name of your card, as well as how much video memory it has.

I quite liked the demo of this ages ago, is it a good price now at 8.24 ?

Buy XCOM: Complete
Includes 4 items: XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Elite Soldier Pack, XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Slingshot Pack, XCOM: Enemy Within

Sounds terrible, but I really like playing it. Very relaxing. Fire up 6Music on the "radio" and do a few deliveries. :D

spintyres is an excellent trucker game

If a game is a daily deal, flash sale or community choice, is that the lowest it will go the whole duration of the sale? So for example, could a daily deal game be cheaper if it's a flash sale?
