Steam Summer sale - 19-30th June

So I took Farcry 3 and Payday 2 this sale. Not sure if there's anything else I need to get me to the Christmas sale as I still have stacks of games that I still need to play.

I'm finding I enjoy the smaller 'Indie' games more than big releases.

My recommendations for the sale are (in no order):-

Fez (played it, enjoyed it, never finished it but intend to go back and start again)

Mark of the Ninja (got this ages ago now, absolutely loved it)

Guacamelee (Just picked this up, it's great!! I've done the majority of the story and the vast majority of the secrets. The secrets get SUPER tricky, so I might have to finish it first and finish the secrets later. Great fun though)

Dead Light (Another I started, enjoyed, but never finished. I'm going back!)

You can probably get all of the above for a tenner if you get them at the right time in the sale, and they're all great. They're games you'll genuinely enjoy playing.

Thief for a tenner? Yea or nay? I know it got some poor reviews, but most of those seemed to be because it wasn't similar enough to the original. As someone who never played the original, would this be a worth a tenner?

There was an article on Eurogamer about how the Steam sales are bad for us. In a nutshell, we have too many games now that as soon as something that seems better comes along, we drop the game we're currently playing and chances are it'll never be finished. Rinse and repeat. As evidenced two posts above. :D

I recall in my Vic 20 days playing the same games time and time again because I had so few of them.

Still haven't brought anything in the sales. All the games on my wishlist can be brought cheaper elsewhere even when they do appear in the Steam sales.

so much BS with the voting, not once in the steam sale have the scores been close, its always been one team ahead by a country mile, yet magically on last day of the sale they encourage crafting spam by showing all the teams on level pegging?

lol

What the hell was the point in this sales community event, if all steam seems to have done was (though no proof, it seems obvious to me) manipulate it?

Perhaps I am immune to PR ********, but bodes badly for a company that prides itself on being the pc champion. /rant

Baldurs Gate 2 for a fiver at the moment. Lot of game for the money, would highly recommend if you have never played it before.

Ahh no more voting.

I did pickup Dust this morning as I've nearly bought that several times and just gave in.

I never really got the crafting thing, I earned a few cards from voting but not enough to craft a badge. Just ended up selling them all.

Hoping the Walking Dead is in the recap. Bought the first series when it was on earlier in the sale and enjoying that so would pickup season 2 if its on.

Managed to craft the badge in the end

Same here, if it was 60-75% off I might've gone for it :(

As for what I've grabbed so far :D
Don't Stave (inc. RoG + Soundtrack)
Dead Island Collection
FarCry 1, 2 & BD
Valve Complete Pack (was cheaper than buying the games I was missing)
Torchlight I/II
Payday: The Heist (inc. DLC/Soundtrack)
Payday 2 DLC collection (apart from the latest bank heist)
Banished
AoE II HD: The Forgotten DLC
Hitman Absolution
Batman Arkham Origins (inc. Season Pass)

Still have too many on my wishlist, but suprised at how much I've been able to pick up so far this year. Looking forward to playing them all once I get my new PC up and running :D
Since then I've bought:
Borderlands 2 + Borderlands GOTY
Borderlands 2 Season Pass
Fallout 3 GOTY
Mass Effect Collection
Can't Stop Laughing Bundle
Guacamelee! Gold Soundtrack Edition
Bastion + Soundtrack DLC
Rayman Legends
Batman Arkham City GOTY
Chivalry Medieval Warfare w/ Deadliest Warrior DLC

Total - £127.14
RRP - £524.53

Probably the most I've spent in a sale, but only paying ~25% of what it's worth at RRP makes me a happy gamer :D Looking forward to playing all of these plus some others from my backlog once my PC's up and running!

I thought the summer adventure thing was to do with badge crafting?

Didn't think it was to do with voting
