Steam Summer Sale 2011

Has anyone who bought Batman being able to create a Windows Live account? I get so far through creating an account, before I get taken to a page on the xbox live website with an error saying "Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened. It appears you've found a glitch in the system." Getting rather annoyed now.

Tried going directly through the website instead of the game? The version of GFWL that ships with batman is awful but the latest version isn't too bad. Never had a major issue with it, apart from it taking forever to update through a game lol.

Tried going through website as well. Dunno if its because I'm wanting to use a gmail account rather than a hotmail one?

Just bought the Counter-Strike: Pack for £4.24.

Amazing considering the games that come with it!

Counter-Strike
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
Counter-Strike: Source
Day of Defeat
Deathmatch Classic
Ricochet.

Quite pleased with that!

Was thinking of getting CS:condition zero for £1.49, it still played much? I was introduced to CS:S at the end of last year and i do enjoy it.

EDIT: Bought anyways :P

Was it just me or was Risen £5 earlier? :p, anyway there seems to be some really good games in the Steam sale :D

Bought the Counter Strike Pack 1 but couldn't gift the extra copy of Day of Defeat. Have Valve stopped allowing this?

Yeah its only highly specific packs which allow the gifting of spare copies. The stores checkout warns you that your are gonna lose your extra copy before you can purchase the packs though which is some small consolation.

Is sanctum any good?

Audiosurf at that pice is awesome, but thats another game I also got in the potato sack and never installed whoops!

I noticed rift, but to me its not worth that much for only a single month of gameplay. Fees are yucky and evil.

Out of everything i've got

Just Cause 2
Torchlight
Singularity

have had the most air time!

I am loving torchlight :) Helps that it has steam cloud so can even play it on laptop due to it not being exactly graphic intensive :) Just started again now i have a feel for the game, the hunter class is silly easy to go through. Once you finish you can "retire" characters and pass stuff down etyc so worth blasting through once and then going through with a diff character after :)

Sanctum is alright actually, tower defense game but you go FPS mode when the round starts and can help kill things directly. You have to balance between building/upgrading towers and upgrading your weapons, once you figure out the best placement etc it gets a bit boring but worth it for £2.50, for sure!

I've tried Rift aswell, felt like a clunky wannabe-WoW-so-bad-it-hurts piece of **** ;)

So I just got around to downling GTA4 that I purchased the other night, and not having played a GTA game since the originals I assumed that "episodes from liberty city" was an expansion to GTA4, instead I downloaded 16GB of GTA4, and am now downloading another 16GB for episodes from liberty city. So my question is, should I have not downloaded GTA4 and just downloaded the episodes from liberty city? or should I have both installed and play through 1 first and then play through the other?

I wasn't going to look at the sales, so I wouldn't be tempted to buy anything...

Curiosity got the better of me. I ended up spending a whole £4.24 on the Quake collection :D

Let the nostalgia begin!

RE: Lara Croft & Guardian of Light. Anyone know if you can play co-op over the web? Steam pages say "local co-op" but wiki page seems to suggest you can play over the web?

Just looking for some co-op play over the web with a workmate.

TIA

I didn't play anything last night, I was downloading games I had stacked up from previous nights. I like having them all ready to go...still have FC2 to d/l and 15% of Liberty city episodes.

Even with 5 hours d/l time and 600-750kb, liberty city didn't d/l fully. Getting quite sick of downloading all the time so I hope there isn't anything I want later today but to be fair there is always at least one game I have wanted every day :P

Got Stalker: Clear Sky as previously mentioned, but the multiplayer CD Key that Steam gave me is apparently "Invalid" according to the game... anyone else had this? EDIT: Gotta contact support apparently.

TBH there's not much point going on multiplayer.
