Steam Summer Sale 2011

So I just got around to downling GTA4 that I purchased the other night, and not having played a GTA game since the originals I assumed that "episodes from liberty city" was an expansion to GTA4, instead I downloaded 16GB of GTA4, and am now downloading another 16GB for episodes from liberty city. So my question is, should I have not downloaded GTA4 and just downloaded the episodes from liberty city? or should I have both installed and play through 1 first and then play through the other?

You'll want to play GTA IV before you play Episodes from Liberty City.

It's a standalone expansion, which is why the download is so big. You still have the whole city to roam around.

I'd play them in order, but it's not required. The stories aren't dependent on knowledge gained from the others, but they do cross over at a few points. :)

RE: Lara Croft & Guardian of Light. Anyone know if you can play co-op over the web? Steam pages say "local co-op" but wiki page seems to suggest you can play over the web?

Just looking for some co-op play over the web with a workmate.

TIA

Yes you can play over the web, they added this a little while ago.

So does anyone have an answer to my GTA4 question? Do I need both GTA4 and episodes from liberty city installed (both taking up 16GB), and if so should I play one before the other, or does one contain all of the content of the other anyway?

Never played an MMO but am becoming tempted with Rift at £7.49, I'm guessing it would hurt my marriage though.

Never played rift, but from what I have heard it offers much the same as WoW with a far smaller population. Still it can be a very personal choice - so play the free trials and see. Also remember that it is the monthly 8/9 quid subscription which eats up the money not the initial purchase usually.

Another nice MMORPG which I've played is Lord of the Rings. The good thing about this is that it is free to pay and you can get very very far without spending a penny. Some people have actually got to the endgame like this. Try LOTR if you like a more 'mature' RPG - just remember to subscribe for a month once you decide what characters you really like so that you permanently gain a lot of benefits for them. (e.g. 5 bags rather than 3, unlimited gold cap, super fast travel options, unlocked trait slots, etc.)

Tell me about it. The real fun for me is the duel servers, you can get really good at it.

I'm not confident enough with my skills yet but I have been on other forums and noticed people setting up jousting tournaments as well.

Really good scope of fun with it and I've never been so satisfied just to find a bunch of robbers and charge at them with my horse and slice... :D

Edit - also can't wait to see what full scales battles turn out. I'm still haven't decided which character I would like and what region to start, I just had a quick play to grasp what content there was.

So I bought C&C 4, but a lot of people on here are saying 3 is superior in every way, shape and form.

Question is, which one(s) do I buy? There are 4 games with the moniker "3"

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars

Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath

Those two are the best of them all
