Steam Summer Sale 2011

It says i own GTAIV Complete (got it in summer last year) - says it includes TBOGT and LaD expansions - but when I go to play them it wants me to pay for them via GFWL?

So... do I not own them?

You have to install GTA IV and Episodes from Liberty City separately.

I think Fallout 3 is far better than NV.

That's surprising, considering that F3 was made by Bethesda and NV was made by Obsidian...

For me, Fallout 3 was much fresher, and the world seemed more alive. I wasn't as impressed by the New Vegas setting or storyline.

I might be biased by the fact I played Fallout 3 when it first came out, which would obviously make it feel fresher than when I played NV later on. But I still stand by what I said. I got the feeling NV was hacked together in a bit of a rush, whereas F3 felt more like a labour of love.

EDIT: Both good games though IMO

I bought that pack but have only run GTA4 (finished all 3 on PS3) I notice on mine that I get all 3 listed in my Steam list but when I launch GTA4, it asks me in-game if I want IV or Episodes.

Am now thinking of buying the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Digital Premium Edition

I can't stop spending my money in these steam sales :(

There is a better deal on a certain auction site from what I hear. The key works in steam.

I'm however waiting to get the first game cheap.

It's because you can install the games on their lonesome as well as with GTA4 installed and have them act more like DLC like you have. :)

Indeed the episodes are stand alone, hence the HUGE download size.

I'm sure they'd make more money if on the last day they didn't have same games but with less discount. Seeing it on offer for less earlier just makes me not want to buy it now...

Edit: Anyone think THQ collection is worth a shot at £34.99?

Depends on what games you have already but basically yes. I would have expected it to be a tad cheaper considering how few games there are in it, and bearing in mind that Metro2033, STALKER, Titan Quest, COH etc have all previously been on sale for a fiver or less.

edit: regarding speeds, I've found browsing the store very slow but downloads have generally been fine this sale using Austria and Marseille locations. One tip is to make sure you are multithreading (downloading multiple games at the same time) if you aren't maxing out your connection.

Any views on the contents of the SFI Summer pack?

Problem I've got is there is a lot of filler, I already own Flatout UC and Port Royale 2, and despite the discount £36 seems a lot to play for what on the face of it are mostly old or mediocre titles. Then again maybe you guys can highlight some gems in there that I've overlooked?

I've noticed something strange with mine, I've only got GTA4 listed, but when I go to GTA4 Complete Version on the Steam store, it says I've already got the complete version, and won't let me buy the expansions.
