Steam Summer Sale 2011

Steam sales are more hype than substance imho Also the stuff I wanted wasn't there, so boo!

More hype than substance, not quite sure if you're being serious or not? It perhaps wasn't as good this time as it has been before, but the Steam Sales have had some gems since they started them. Batman for £3.74, Mass Effect for less than £2, BFBC2 for £5...

Yeah perhaps some of the deals aren't AMAZING (and occasionally laughable), but by and large, in each of the last few big sales they've done, there've been a few gems that have usually been cheaper than any other well known online retailer, let alone the bricks and mortar shops.

nabbed the following:

Tiny Bang Story £2.38
Lume £1.70
Assassin's Creed £3.39
Trine £1.69
Spacechem £4.00

Not bad for just over a tenner, Lume was dissapointingly short but spacechem is more than making up for it.

Best thing is Assassin's creed and Trine go in my list of games I don't even download then realise I have them 6 months later when I'm borred!

Killing Floor is not a cheap mod!
It's awesome, so much replay value, even if it might not look like it. It's the game I go to the most if I'm bored.
Definitely worth it at such low price. I bought it for £10+ I think, but even more would be worth it imo.

I feel like I should have bought Abe's Odyssey and Exodus whilst they cost about 30p each...
Lost my original big box versions a long time ago. They were very good platformers. :(

That's why I love Steam sales, you can keep you're brand new big name titles. It's some of the, empty price, practically free games that pop-up that make it all worth it.
