Steam Summer Sale 2011

I don't :p. I do have L4D 1&2 and Portal 1&2 though. If I could have gifted those four games to friends so I could play with 'em I'd have gotten it, but you can't so no moneyz for you Gabe!...well I bought Borderlands and the GTA complete pack BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT!

If you bought the Valve pack, you'd get spare copies of Portal 1 and 2 as well as Left for Dead 1 and 2 to gift around as you want.

With Valve games, they always give you spare copies if you buy packs that include games you already own.

Not for me, I bought yesterday and did not gain any of my already owned games as gifts. It warned me of this right before buying as well.

i had a message that said otherwise, they specifically said i would not get extra copies??

How low are Fallout 3 and New Vegas likely to go for assuming they go on sale? First time I have had steam during a big sale and I don't know what the price cuts are like. Only games I really want now that I bought the Valve Pack.

Yeah its good it warns you. When I bought prince of persia 5 pack for 12 quid it warned me the one i allready had i would NOT get a gift token. When valve gave me a free complete valve pack for getting the golden potato in the valve arg all the duplicates were giftable though even portal 2. But they kind of had too cus loyal fans who had allready pre ordered portal 2 were loosing out cus other people were getting free copies. Sold my free copy for 20 quid :)

I'm a sucker for challenges, i have been buying all the cheapish games and doing the challenges for tickets, going to be an expensive week even if i don't see a game i particuarly want!

I'd say FO3 will go to 6.99 and NV will go to 9.99 if they're on Today only deals. I'm hoping anyway :D.

Looking at the prizes for tickets being maps and characters and things i think this looks like the start of more microtransactions on steam (like TF2).

Having recently finished Fallout 3 I'd say you can't go wrong with playing it through. I don't think it changes anything in New Vegas whether you do or not, though.

Being better than something that is utter toss doesn't mean that it's worth playing still. ;) Hence why I find all this "Well it's better than BO" talk odd.

I found MoHs single player insultingly bad, regardless of how it compares to another game.

I agree the SP isn't great. However I still think it is better than Black Ops. I wouldn't buy either game just for the SP though, they are both primarily MP games and that is where the most value is to be found. Especially with MoH where the MP is on an entirely different engine and bears NO relation to the SP whatsoever.

Hmm looks like Magicka is going to have a larger discount & able to get a ticket from it today.

Edit: This is a guess.

I appear to have finally found a games I am good at. I have always been about average in online shooters amongst my friends but I completed Portal earlier today in one sitting. I thought it seemed quite short and I just googled how long it took people to play it. It seemed that it took most people about 4 hours on their first try whereas mine is 2.5 hours and I have done quite a few of the advanced maps and challenges. Actually proud of myself :D

Now however, I am downloading Portal 2 at 50KBps -.-
