Steam Summer Sale 2016 set for 23rd June for two weeks

I'm close to buying:

This war of mine
Ryse: Son of Rome
Kingdom of Amalur
Alien: Isolation
Spec ops: The Line

Already bought Shadow warrior.

Are the other games worth it? :)

I'm sceptical about kingdom of Amalur mostly

Spec ops was a great story and a nice shortish length so didnt get bored before the end!

Alien was the complete opposite! Atmosphere and likeness to the films was spot on (from what i hear, never seen them). But the game itself really did out stay its welcome and felt really padded out especially 2/3rds of the way through right until the end, and the alien becomes more annoying than scary at that point!

That said i bet a fan of the films would love it for my first points!

Tempted by ryse myself as again its said to be short and sweet

So far I've only bought DLC for pre-existing games.

AOE2: African Kings DLC and another DLC pack thats name escapes me currently.

Cities Skylines: Snowfall DLC.

Ryse - graphically beautiful repetitive brawler. Not a great game, but probably worth it for the graphics, I enjoyed it well enough. It is quite short which helps.

Alien Isolation - best Alien game ever and one of the best scifi games ever. Only SOMA is better as far as scifi horror goes. Isolation and SOMA are both absolute must plays though.

Spec Ops - by the numbers shooter, totally non-innovative, but the story is quite brilliant and totally elevates it. Fantastic music as well. Worth experiencing.

If you like Oblivion and Skyrim, then Kingdoms of Amalur is definitely worth it. It beats those two. The combat I loved. But I guess if you've played Witcher III, which I haven't, it might not be as good to you.

Think it might be time for me to finally pick up Enslaved on PC as well, haven't played it since the my first time on the Xbox 360 years ago.

Make sure you apply a SweetFX profile to it and it brings a whole new life to the game. Completed it again recently and it really is such a great game.

Picked up;
Secrets of Monkey Island 1/2
Day of the Tenticle Remastered
Act of War Direct Action
Black Mesa
Life is Strange
Burnout Ultimate

No idea when I will play them though.

for me personally i feel this sale has been rather weak, much preffered the flash sales. feels like the offers on that were better.

I agree, these sales are trash compared to previous years with flash and daily deals.

Dont think il be buying anything since you can get most stuff for same/cheaper whenever you want from cd key sites.

I don't know if it's just that I am getting older but I've been sat looking at the sale for that last couple of days and I am just not compelled by anything at all. Most games these days I have look at and just don't get excited by them.

The last game I was "wowed" by was Crysis 3, which I put into a close second place of my all time top after Half-Life.

I've found steam to just fill with a glut of junk, with titles like "Shower with your Dad simulator" and "Mountain". I've just bought my Deus-Ex discs down from the loft to install and replay - The new one is probably the only game I am looking forward to this year.

I've been gaming for over 25 years and always enjoyed the advancements as time has gone one but just feel now that the industry is in a bit of a rut - this sale is reinforcing that feeling given I have bought nothing.

I guess things are going to start to focus on VR now so will have a little while to wait for it to become a bit more mainstream.

I notice a lot of people mentioning SweetFX on this and other forums, when a profile is enabled, does it cause fps to reduce at all ? cheers

Well looks like all of those games are sold to me then haha.

I love the Alien films so I'm excited for this game!

Ive always enjoyed games involving the Romans so that's being purchased!

I haven't played witcher 3 yet and love oblivion and skyrim, so again kingdom of Amalur is sold.

Spec ops, the storyline has me interested. Sold!

I'm going to be busy during my days off
