well if there is no sale by 4th July safe bet it ain't happening this year.

What surprises me is how they let Amazon pull a move on them - from what I hear Amazon have shifted thousands of MP3 alone.

Not only Amazon, pretty much every Digital Download service has had an ongoing sale for the past week or so.

Little acts of desperation. :p

Colour me incorrect then. Could've sworn there was. Oh well.

Was really hoping they'd pull something as excellent as the summer camp sale was, but not getting hopes up at this stage.

Yup, I was sure there was one too, but it appears there is no trace of it on the Interwebz and everyone says it's a myth.

Conspiracy?

It wasn't an 'easter' sale, I think it was possibly a 'spring' sale. Though could be wrong.. I think Valve have said they don't do religious holiday sales, just seasonal sales. ie Winter sale, Summer sale etc..

Maybe they'd just like us to think for once ''you can't just use us for cheap games, buy some at full price this year please'' and then they'll have a reasonably good Winter sale only.

They are of course wrong to think this and will lose customers to Origin if the sale doesn't happen very soon.

I know lets just reduce all the EA games on steam by 95% just for a giggle please Gabe.

Even EA didn't take their own advice, they had discounts up to 75% within days of that statement.

To me that comment was someone that didn't quite grasp the concept of supply and demand rather than clear EA policy.

'We release a game, it's worth £30 and that's that....... Erm no, you release and sell to those who think it's worth full price, your sales then plummet within weeks, this is how it is for almost all games. It's no use pricing a game at £30 if nobody is buying it, it's simple economics, you get a tidal wave of new sales each time you lower the barrier for entry. Be stubborn and watch sales dry up to almost nothing at £30, or actually make money by selling many more copies at a lower price. Seems obvious really
