Steam Summer Sale: What's on your list?

You're pretty ignorant of the fact that America is pretty much driving the gaming industry.

All major releases happen on American dates and according to their times, it is also relevant to pretty much all international sales, like the Steam one.

Sales around the 4th of July are normal, two previous Steam Summer sales started on the last Thursday of June, almost all digital download providers have started theirs last week.

Just because a lot of games are produced in America, doesn't mean their world-wide DD will have a sale on the 4th of July.

Not all major releases happen on "American dates" either, especially with Valve. Look at the release dates of some of their games - Not always on a Tuesday.

Is this sale only for a limited time? I have only recently got into pc gaming. What are the prices like? What should i look out for.

I think they are playing it down from now on. Wasn't there some developers not very happy last year? They are probably focusing more on the weekend and daily deals now which we didn't have last Summer...

If the developers weren't happy, surely they'd take it up with the publisher?

Well I was hoping for Witcher 2 but I just got lucky and picked up the premium edition brand new for £7 in Morrisons :D

I've been meaning to pick up The Sims 3 and all of the expansions when it's in the sales next. There's no way I'm paying the stupid price of all of the expansions.

Not much else I'm desperate to buy really. Might buy Skyrim if it's cheap, already got it on PS3 though.
