Steam Summer Sale

the steam trading cards is a game supports it , you get a card every 30 mins i believe and if the game has eg 8 cards you get 4 drops total so you need to trade or buy off market for the rest, you then craft the cards into a badge upon completion you get a profile background for steam , a emo icon for chat and a steam summer sale card now , it was coupon then changed to steam mystery card then to summer sale, I dont know what the prize is for doing the summer badge

For anyone asking about Call of Juarez: Gunslinger it's a nice game for £8...especially if you like western movies and fps games.

Good voice acting, gfx, chars and levels.:)

It's fun for a while, it will trail off in the end though but until that point it's a pretty good game. If you're into your third person shooters and/or maybe like the TV show then it's worth the £6.70, just don't expect an in-depth MMO.

thanks for the feedback think im gonna take the plunge have to break my steam sale seal at some point!!

Bought killing floor before summer sale for £3,
bought all CS games for £4.24!
edit: CS was denyed by Barclays... Wtf, seriously?

So whats the story with the cards? I've never really paid any attention too them until now.

You just play the games to unlock them? Then 'craft' them into a badge?

Is that it or is there more to it!?

Yep that's pretty much it. You get xp for your steam level with every badge you craft.

Or you can sell the cards on the market and get funds for your steam wallet if you cba with badges. When it was in beta I sold a few cards for 60p-80p, but now most games they go for 20p.

There is also a small chance you will get a foil card, which sell for more money. Usually £1.50 or more depending on the game. Seen some foil cards go for £20 when it first started and they were rare.

Haha I'm just browsing and keep getting..
"Sorry
The Steam Store is experiencing some heavy load right now. Please try again later."

For anyone getting 'declined' why don't you try through paypal? (don't have to have a PP account just click the thing bottom right pay with card)

It's loading now, I've not even added anything to my basket. :(

Edit I bet steam must make so much money from people assuming they are good deals. People purchasing Metro 2033 for £5? Been about £2 on GMG before, even been gave away at some point. :p

My paypal didn't work for a while, kept getting a "try again later or contact support" message. Left it half an hour, went through ok. Looks like it's just the mad rush!

Discounts seem to be fluctuating a bit... Far Cry 3 was £7 ish now it's £12. Too bad, would have bought it too :p

Who has time for that, tho? I've barely got time to play a real game from my endless bought-not-played list, let alone some Steam meta-game :p
