Stephen Hawkings Universe

Nope, they are all calculated and are quite accurate.
A normal person can't even begin to deal with the numbers they work with, which is why folks like yourself believe they are just bull ******** us. Well, that or religion.

That is truly shocking. this is why the idea and rules of science need be taught more at school.

Please tell me what the average life ratio is per million planets, then the average intelligence Is per billion life supporting planets is. Please tell me what life can be based on, carbon, silicon, other. Please tell me how many planets are in the sweet spot away from the sun and what that sweet spot is.

Quite simply they have plugged more or less random numbers into an equation. We haven't got a first clue about most of the variables.

Only if you make huge assumptions on the nature of the Universe.

You could use the same probability to say there must be a God, but do you believe there is one, as much as you believe in Aliens.

We are one example of intelligent life, finding another one isn't the same as finding something the is no evidence of.

It just seems really silly to assume we are alone. Why would we be, it just seems to be wishful thinking that we are special. And as we don't know how big the universe is we have no idea of the numbers but still I am certain we are not alone.

Intelligent only by our own definition of the word.

As for evidence for God, it would depend entirely on what you would accept as evidence.

We have zero evidence of other intelligent (by our definition) life so it is a faith position much like believing in God.

The vast amount of allegedly random events that led to life on Earth may well be unique and the probability of all these requirements too great for repetition in any meaningful way.

We also have the multiverse hypothesis which complicates things somewhat.

Stephen Hawking went on a date with a woman the other week.
He came back with broken ankles and wrists, and cracked ribs.
Apparently she stood him up. :o

I find the whole topic fascinating and Stephen Hawking is cool.
