Steve Jobs has died. What effect, if any, will it have on Apple and the tech industry?

Closed Source Monopolising ****s, All marketing and **** all development, sueing innocent companies who don't infringe on their patents but they insist do, Charging extortionate amounts for their software which really isn't worth it, BSODs, Vista...

I can go on but I'm afraid if I do I'll never stop until death comes to give me that £100 he owes me!

Ah good old bias which no longer apply.

Development yep they certainly do that, charging extort ant amounts. £45 for an OS or even £100 isn't a. Lot. That's. 2-3 pc games and how many of those do you use. Every day for 2 years.

Your the clueless fanboy here. me an android fanboy who owns various apple stuff? yea man i am certainly am android fanboy:o

Try again and next time dont post rubbish mate.

Me the Apple fanboy that owns loads of Android stuff?

Keep digging your hole, and please don't call me your 'mate', it's embarrassing.

You dont develope android and iphone apps. i do and for a living. i know and worked with various sdk's on ios and android so i know my ****. if i diddnt know my **** i wouldn't be hired as a professional moil developer.

I totally believe you're an awesome developer.

Vista was a huge leap forward, there was plenty of development in it. Drivers was an issue and they learnt from that. It certainly isn't the lemon everyone made out.

well i dont have to prove suff to u as end of the day, if my lying im only lying to myself but if im telling the truth then who gives a crap if you believe me or not :)

Your a nobody. a person behind a keyboard, dont have to prove anything to u. Up to you if you want to believe me or not :)

Honestly, I think the tech industry will stay it's natural course which Jobs was a part of and not much will change.

Jolly good, run along now.

No thanks. i will continue to post my opinions baout the effects of Steve jobs death which imo will have mimimal effect in the industry due steve bringing hardly anything new and refreshing to the table for years. The ipods where nothing to write home about. The first iphone hoever was something to praise.

Good luck apple fanboy

GAH that isn't a valid counter arguement!

I can't be a fanboy of X because I also on Y does not work.

It happens all the time.

Why are people a fan of anything? serious. what happened to the days of umm. Buy whichever products the best whether its made my apple or a banana?

i was due for an upgrade a few months ago and waited to see what this new iphone will look like and now that i know, i will get something else

Keep posting your 'opinions' then, I doubt anyone is reading them (for more reasons than one). :D

What would you call a football fan then?

Pfft everyone was basically paying to Beta test Windows 7 I'm sorry mate but you'll never be able to convince me or any of the other Tech savvy guys I know that Vista was a step Forward why do you think Dell Started offering so called downgrades. The Fact is with Vista's release MS needed to justify their existance and quick as they wern't selling enough XP licences so the guys in marketing said we need something new to shill devs said well we've got this that isn't ready marketing says give us that slap a different name on it and we'll release it the foolish consumers can test it then once we've finished the original product slap another name on it and sell it again!

far to few sensible people on a tech forum. To many hold strong opinions about a company, rather than actually look what they need.
Get what best suites your needs is the best motto.

It's not limited to phones though. GFX cards is another similar area.

Fanaticism is detrimental to people's needs but hey ho, get what you like the most I always say. Even if it isn't technically the best.

Indeed, people should buy what suits them best.

However, when it comes to Android/Apple, that all goes out of the window and arguments over stupid things always start.

I suppose it's the modern day Nvidia vs Ati.

The ipods where nothing to write home about.

A product that raised the share price of Apple massively? Increased like-for like quarterly revenues from $61M to $320M. A product that sold 100 million units in less than 6 years. A product that revolutionised the way that many people consume music.

Nothing to write home about?

I think you have your head a little too deep in the technology to see what Apple have really achieved.

They have changed the way that normal people use technology on a scale that very, very few companies have ever managed to achieve.
