Steve vs Linus, round 2

Tbh if Steve was smart about his abject hatred of Linus then he'd have moved on after the response waiting for LMG to mess up again (only a matter of time) with the classic I-Told-You-So.

I like Steve's reviews, and i like linus reviews and top gearness.

Steve is immensely boring, but reviews are good,

Linus the reviews are good enough and they're all just having fun but I also like that they talk about other tech,

Personally I don't just look at 1 review I look at a plethora of them for an item I wish to invest in, and tbh Linus reviews generally tally up with the majority, so they may not be as in depth as Steves but they are good enough.

Linus has certainly made a huge effort that is noticeable to improve which is good and deserves kudos that he's done/doing what he said he would

Steve is being a bit childish with the whole thing, it's rage bait at most and now his stance to Linus of go through my lawyer is a bit pathetic.

This other guy, never heard of him, seems that he's jumping on a bandwagon purely for greed and clicks, he's not bringing anything to the table, there's no shock new evidence being released.

I'll continue to watch Linus, as I have done, Steve I'm less inclined to watch but probably still would.

Paul's hardware is probably my fave yt in the tech space, mostly cos he doesn't get involved with the politics.

This other guy, absolutely no interest in his stuff and that video hasn't compelled me to watch more if his crap
 
I must admit I've enjoyed them all bitching about each other. It's all so petty as well. I still think Linus is largely in the right, clearly he gets frustrated occasionally just like everyone else, perhaps with more just cause though because the scale of the operation.

It's funny though. Hardware scene is boring, there ain't enough good hardware products to get excited about so some drama creates content to fill the gap

Hmm tbh I think he's shown himself to be a massive douche. The way he treated that company that sent him a graphics card prototype cooler, even selling it at auction when they had asked for it back multiple times and they way he treats his staff. Arrogant is an understatement.

And this is the problem with gutter journalism (i.e. GN faux journalism). All of the billet labs stuff was put to death by LTT, but like he said, once the drama is out there people disengage and don't care about the truth.

I've not read too much of this thread, I've been following the goings on to a small extent on youtube etc.

I feel it boils down to this so far:

LTT: It's a businessman running a business, but the owner is a bit of a manchild and narcissist that needs people to keep him in check.
GN: Nerdy guy trying to be a journalist for the sake of integrity in tech, misguided in his approach.
Rossman: Nerdy guy pushing for consumer rights that thinks Linus is a pile of poo as a human being, but will ultimately put consumer rights first, he's essentially a consumer rights activist at best and a business owner ensuring his niche remains viable at worst.

Am I getting this right?

Not quite, you missed the part that they are all massive egomaniacs and must 'win', sometimes at any cost.

Don't forget this all kicked off with someone from the Linus' labs team made an off the cuff comment about GN in a fan tour that was caught on camera and picked clipped out of a much longer video which went viral. Steve got all emo about it and that is what kicked of his quest for vengeance and his 'expose' video which turned out to be inaccurate on the billet labs stuff.

P.S. Rossman's 'consumer' campaign was started as something protect/further his repair business and wasn't some holier than thou consumer advocate.

I dunno mate, I don't have time for this poo anymore.

I follow all of those channels for different reasons and it feels like I'm suddenly dealing with weird teenage drama in the most unexpected sense.
