STOP TOUCHING BASE!!!

I work in a factory, on machines. Thankfully we rarely ever get the soft handed office boys knocking about, so silly talk is rare. I'm assistant team leader, so I do get the odd daft email. 99% of them aren't really relevant, so usually just get a cursory glance.

I tend to leave the desk people to it.

Glad I'm not the only one succumbing to this blue-sky-thinking rubbish.

I do use "COB" a lot as I need to lay down the law with contractors a fair bit and it really does come in handy for that.

Heh, I got burned a few times with "end of day" type deadlines. I always give a time now.

Remember, when someone tells you there is no "I" in team, remind them that there is a "U" in **** off.

I find the best way of doing things with office politics is simply to ignore people completely and delete emails, it's amazing how much I do it and don't get in trouble.
My reply is always... But there's a M and an E... and that spells ME!

Touch base.
Revert (instead reply. It's a completely and utterly different thing).
Do the needful.
Inbox me.

I'm not sure which of these I detest most.
