Strange reboot issue

A fresh install is always worth a try, opera browser is a good alternative to use.

Really tearing my hair out now! Just had another crash using Edge so it rules out the browser itself causing the issue.

Ordered another PSU which is due tomorrow, EVGA G3 850W. See if the issue persists with that, can't really go 7-14 days without a PC! At least I can rule out the PSU.

Memory is it set correct in the bios have you checked this with memtest.

Hi mate, using memory in sig, I have just got it set to XMP profile, I didn't touch anything else, any suggestions?

Download memtest and run it see if theres any errors.

You could also try running at default and test.

Will do mate! New PSU is due first thing so that will rule that out. Got some more thermal paste due next week although can't see that being an issue as my Corsair AIO is a few months old and temps look okay! I've yet to have one restart in a game, which makes zero sense, why would it reboot on web browsers but not in games under load? all drivers are current even the bios for the 3080. run 3D mark constantly and valley benchmark not one reboot or crash. :confused:

could a software conflict cause random restarts or is it hardware? What happens is the mouse will freeze, any sound playing ie music will stutter for a few seconds then the pc reboots itself.

No restart in games doesn't sound like a hardware issue , i would do a fresh windows install.

Thanks, just about to run memtest, never used it before fingers crossed, any idea how long to let it run or for what amount of time?

I would do 2 passes but others will say more it does take some time.

Left it to run 4 passes not one error. Will upload pics later, PSU to try tomorrow then a full windows reinstall on Sunday most likely. Then im running out of options really!

Interesting issue but an annoying one when u can't find the culprit!
I would do a windows reinstall. Sounds like driver/ codec issue if memory tests are fine.

PSU arrived earlier so hoping to get some further testing done later. Failing that I'll do a full windows reinstall tonight / tomorrow and report back

Touch wood, so far with the new EVGA G3 850W PSU zero reboots. Will report back if it returns! Windows 10 reinstall if so!

EDIT : spoke too soon, another reboot after 2 hours of browsing. Will get cracking with a full format tomorrow!

Did some digging a few nights ago and people claiming to have had similar issues with Corsair iCue software causing random BSODs / Rebooting and shut downs. Low and behold (touch wood!) since I removed it a few days ago I've not had a single reboot. Hopefully that was the culprit!

iCEU is a horrible piece of software. I mean it's a fantastic idea but they just can't for the life of themselves get all the bugs out of it.
